Mitsubishi's New Must-See DLP TV Fleet: Technological Convergence at its Best

by dxbari , Oct 04 '04
Pros: Sleek. Most features and best picture in class. Doubles as a 1280x720 PC Monitor.
Cons: Daylight glare. The user interface can take getting used to. Not much else.
Big Screen Television. For many years the concept was somewhat better than the reality. Big screen televisions were: blurry, grainy, unreliable, too difficult to calibrate, too bulky on the whole, and flat out expensive. Not to mention that in an age ...

Great TV, one major problem.....

by jac1287 , Mar 12 '05
Pros: Good picture, lots of connections
Cons: Big white spot in middle of screen!!, and Mitsubishi is unwilling to resolve!!!!
At the time when i settled on this TV, it was one of the first to implement DLP technology, and let me tell ya, it stood out from the rest. It had great picture, great contrast, and A/V I/O's to boot. The fact that it was one of the first to actually ...

Picture Perfect

by whippingbrady , May 18 '05
Pros: Great picture quality. A wide variety of connections. Picture on Picture. Front digital media inputs.
Cons: Needed a software upgrade immediately. Channel changing is slow. Be careful of the glare.
Once you have seen HDTV, you will never go back. DLP technology is cheaper than Plasma and you never have to worry about burn in. I purchased this TV from Best Buy a couple of weeks before the Superbowl. Several months later and I am still in awe of ...

Avoid DLP TVs especially Mitsubishi

by in-orbit , Nov 05 '08
Pros: - Good colors
- PIP function
Cons: - Responds very slowly
- Expensive to repair
- Flawed circuitry design
I bought the Mitsubishi WD-52525 52 in. DLP HDTV back in April 2005 and spent around $3,000 including the TV stand.  I bought the Mitsubishi TV because I had previously owned a Mitsubishi analog 4:3 big screen TV that worked great.  Thinking ...

Great TV excellent HD pictures
by salam1 ,Apr 02 '06
Pros: Great TV, best for HD viewing
Cons: none so far
A lot of inputs, including PC inputs. What most amazing is its HD pictuers. I had a SONY HDTV but its HD pictures are not as good as this one. Easy to use on screen guide.

Be careful
by tsumans ,Feb 23 '08
Pros: First six months
Cons: Light needs replaced and expensive - lack of service - constant delays
TV was great when we got, but that lasted 6 months and then had continual light burnout every 6 months. Getting the product serviced was total nightmare with constant red light on start ups and inability to diagnose or fix the problem by their service people. It finally died 14 months ago and since then it has cost me nearly $1500.00 in repairs with long history of delays and failure to fix. I just got it back two days ago after repair and the status (red) lamp is on again saying it needs fixed. This occurred two hours after return from shop and 14 months of repairs and inability to fix. The tv is a mess and service is even worse.

WD-525525 - Great HDTV
by rcobar ,Oct 13 '05
Pros: HD Picture is Amazing. NON-HD Picture is better than my Samsung CRT HD Monitor.
Cons: Protection Screen glare, but shield can be removed. CableCARD is kinda annoying.
Great HD Picture. Watching Sports in HD is just AMAZING!
I can't get enough of the Red Sox,Bruins and Patriots on High Def. I hooked up my PC to this puppy and now I can play my DVD's (which look incredible) directly from my DVD-ROM drive. I also have a FUSION HDTV Card which I use to Record non-encrypted HD channels on my PC. This TV has all the connections you need, including the CableCARD slot, and will allow you to control more devices that you can shake a stick at.
Again, the picture on this TV is wonderful and although the sound is not as good as other TV's, overall I feel this TV is worth every penny.

After 15 months, I still like it a lot!
by geewizard1 ,Mar 20 '06
Pros: Clarity, thickness of unit, connectivity, support.
Cons: None that I can think of.
We compared all of the big screen HDTVs and this one was the best for image quality, brightness, and size. Have not had one problem with it in 15 months of heavy use.

Fan noise
by mcondell ,Aug 28 '04
Pros: Built in HD receiver.
Cons: Cooling fan noise is annoying and quite obvious.
Received unit 2 weeks ago. Immediately became aware of cooling fan noise, apparent even when volume on program through set or through theatre sound system is up. Will be calling retailer to determine what, if anything, can be done. Have not found any postings on the web regarding this problem. Am seeking others with same complaint.

Piece of junk. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
by jimmyfingersNew Member ,Nov 26 '09
Pros: Great picture.
Cons: Shiny screen. All you could see was windowglare during the daylight hours. Very unreliable.
Bought it because the picture was great and I heard DLP technology was very reliable. After three years ,the bulb went. When the bulb went it took out parts of one of a circuit board with it.Had the set repaired for $600.00. Three months later it was in the shop again and the repair tech. said it was going to cost $625.00 to repair (similiar problem again). I told him to throw it in the dumpster and went out and bought a Panasonic plasma. Mitsubishi DLP tv's are garbage.
