Pros: Great video, good audio. Native 1080i/480p. Lots of inputs. Good remote.
Cons: Some usabilty could be improved. High cost compared to traditional TVs. Zoom mode is worthless.
This opinion isn't going to go into all of the technical aspects of the WS-55807. You can get all of that stuff from the home theater magazines out there. The goal of this opinion is to tell you all of the "other" stuff that will help you decide if...
If you're in the market for a big screen TV, you might as well go out and get a good one. This may not be the best HDTV ready set on the market, but it certainly qualifies as one of the best for the price.
Pros: A very affordable HDTV -ready wide-screen TV with the excellent image reproduction Cons: Presence of a "Red-push" (but which TV does not have it now?)
Summary: If you watch a lot of DVD’s or have an HDTV Dish this TV is definitely a way to go.
It just happened that I’ve got a DVD player a month ago and become increasingly frustrated watching the “anamorphic wide-screen” and “letterbox”...
Pros: Liked the WS Cons: Always adjusting convergence. Screen has a lot of glare.
I bought this TV for two reasons. To up-grade from a low end Pioneer big screen and to go with a WS HDTV ready set. I sold the Pioneer that I had over five yrs with no problems. After 2 1/2 yrs an IC for alignment of the convergence goes out. Contacted...
Pros: High Def capable. Widescreen. Good stock speakers. Cons: Bulky size. Plastic screen can scratch easily.
I bought this TV set used from a friend who is upgrading to a wall hanging Plasma TV. This tv is replacing a 32" CRT monitor which was my "main" tv for movies, sports, etc. This model is a couple years old (2001/2002) but it was hardly used by the ...
Pros: BIG, PROGRESSIVE, MANY INPUTS Cons: CONVERGANCE [PIA(tedious)]
I purchased this HDTV about 2 months ago after a bad bout of BEST BUYitis! I traded in a 56" Toshiba 16x9 for this baby. So far I love the picture with my Progressive Scan DVD. The DBS is a marked improvemment over cable NTSC (crap), I wish the...
Pros: Excellent Picture
Picture Format Cons: Not Much
I purchased this before the superbowl.
Pretty decent picture in normal screen, problem is the squatty picture involved. You really need to decide whether you will be watching movies or television with this set.
DVD movies have an excellent...
Pros: Excellent picture, high quality, very long lifespan Cons: Very heavy, but the wheels help a lot.
This is a fantastic television set. We all know that Mitsubishi makes the highest quality projection tv's, but the picture quality on this really blew me away. HD images look razor sharp, truly amazing. My friend just bought a new flat screen lcd tv and was disappointed to see that my much older set actually looked a lot better! The surround speaker system is actually very good for built in audio as well. All in all this was the best video purchase I have ever made. Only real drawback is the bulk of these type of sets, but if you want the best picture at the best price, this is definitely the best way to go.
