Pros: HD-Ready, Widescreen, Mitsubishi Promise Module. Cons: Not as good a picture as Toshiba RPTV's.
The Mitsubishi WT-46809, the smallest and least expensive model in the Mitsubishi entry-level Platinum line of HD-ready widescreen rear-projection TV's (RPTV's), offers an interesting tradeoff. On the one hand, these TV's don't quite achieve...

Pros: Great HDTV image. Affordable. Cons: Screen burn in happens very easy, even with HDTV images.
Got the TV at the end of November, 2001, and signed up for digital cable with a HDTV decoder box. Absolutely fantastic display of HDTV images. Widescreen DVDs with our progressive scan player look better than the local movie house. Most of the big CBS...

Pros: Happy when we first got the TV. Cons: Picture burn 6 months after purchase. Need of a signal board - Mitsubishi won't help.
Bought this TV October 2001 and now just 5 years later our television (WT-46809) has died. First the sound went out, then unable to switch inputs... Service tech (authorized Mitsubishi technician) says it will need a signal module (board) and Mitsubishi says it is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. I am getting the run around from their customer service trying to find this part. It looks like we are SOL.
