Pros: clarity; colors; wide viewing area; takes less room; energy-efficient; entertainment options Cons: base doesn't swivel; bit hard to connect; need adjustment so screen doesn't go black?

Pros: Good contrast and viewing angle. Excellent value. Cons: Weak speakers might as well have been left off.

Really a shock from the old viewsonic flat screen CRT. Speakers very tinney sounding, but it the monitor not sound I was interested it. Easy set up. A+++++++++++++++
Pros: good price, good features Cons: Speakers not great, 1280 x 1024 pixels only
Finally, a 17" flat panel that's less than $300 USD!
I brought one of these monitors home from Sam's Club for $298. Of course, it had a DEAD PIXEL right in the middle of the screen! So, I returned it and got another one that works just fine.
It has built in speakers, but I don't bother to use them because they don't sound very good (I bought it for the monitor not the sound!).

Overall I'm pleased with this unit and it was nice to haul that boat-anchor of an old CRT screen out to the curb! My desk has a lot more room.
