Pros: Very small size, good sound, includes many accessories Cons: Firmware upgrade needed to use as USB mass storage
I've tried several inexpensive digital music players to use for running, all of which had problems and I was forced to return them. Then I decided to try out MPIO products. I've certainly learned that when it comes to mp3 players, you get what you pay ...

Pros: Joystick is mostly a pro, great value, excellent sound, nice design. Light! Cons: UMS setup a pain; making it work with the other great features was flat ugly.
I wasn't familiar with this brand or Korean manufacturer, but saw it at Best Buy and liked the design enough to give it a chance. I haven't been disappointed. This is a great little unit with excellent sound quality. It's extremely compact and ...

worth every cent i paid for it ... well, almost
by gatcho ,Jan 04 '05
Pros: price, features: FM/Voice recorder, direct encoding, compact and lightweight, easy to use controls Cons: average quality earphones
comparing this player with the likes of iRiver or Samsung is like asking yourself "do I want to have more, with the same price?" this player packs more memory with the same amount of features that a same priced iRiver or Samsung has to offer. the control/buttons are extremely easy to navigate, I didn't even have to read the manual to master them. And I even have friends who were able to use it w/o asking me any questions on how to navigate through the menu/buttons.
the only drawback here is the quality of the earphones, if you want to experience better sound quality ... purchasing a higher quality earphones is a must! Other than that, the price, mem size, features etc in a small and light package is hard to beat!

Cheap Quality at an Expensive Price
by dionysus854 ,Sep 18 '04
Pros: Size and arm strap are suitable for exercising. Cons: Too many to list; see the main review paragraph I wrote.
I bought this thing from Best Buy a couple of months ago on sale for $150. It was already showing signs of defective workmanship when I pulled it out of the box. The wires on the headphones were cut at different lengths for each ear which made them unusable. The unit itself constantly freezes during downloads and requires that you shut it off and pull out the battery. I find myself having to re-format the internal drive at least once a week because it freezes or the tracks are played back distorted. The tech support is out of Korean and utterly useless. I also have no faith in them since they allowed a unit with so many physical and software defects to pass through their quality control inspection. I wouldn't mind if this was a really cheap unit I could just throw way after a couple of months, but for $150 I expected it to be more reliable and durable. Don't waste your money and avoid the frustration.

DON'T BUY IT!!
by dorkazoid ,Nov 08 '04
Pros: NOTHING! Cons: Instruction in Greek, menu is very difficult to navigate, playback quality is very poor
Seriously, there has to be something that worth the money that you will waste on this item. It is the most difficult piece of electronics that I've ever had to use and I still can't get a song on it. My husband and I spent well over 4 hours, EACH, trying to maneuver through its cumbersome display, unreadable instructions (Not written by someone who speaks English as their primary language), and finicky knobs or buttons. Once we did figure out how to get a couple songs onto the device, the playback was terrible. It sounded like you were listening to a scratched up record through 10" of steel. Also, actually trying to maneuver through the display while trying to run or exercise is impossible.
I really hate this item and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you don't hold a master's degree in electronics, then don't buy it because you won't be able to figure it out. Even if you did, you would not want to listen to the music that was stored.
