Pros: Cheap, doesn't take up much space Cons: Uneven grounds, too much static, doesn't grind finely enough, noisy
I found this coffee mill a few years ago when I was in the market for a burr coffee grinder. Like most shoppers, I was sure that if I looked hard enough, I'd find that perfect grinder for a fraction of the price of the other grinders. Well, I found one ...

Pros: Small footprint, consistent grind, reasonable price, CLEAN Cons: Just a bit irregular grind, not espresso fine.
Don't expect an espresso bar grade grinder here. The grind is a little on the irregular side (although my lack of regular cleaning may have something to do with this). And the finest grind is a little coarse for espresso, but I have seen web sites that ...

cheap but good

Pros: Small, simple to use, fairly simple to clean. Cons: Not as quiet as a mouse, but hey, it's a grinder...
I just got this and it's my first burr grinder and it works just fine. I'll be interested to see if it develops any operational problems, as it seems to be perfectly solid. I like to pour in a single scoop of beans and grind them all and dump the results into a French Press, and the grounds-catcher design allows this without even removing the lid.
One interesting side-effect of the way the grounds get into the catcher is that the smaller particles stick where the grounds hit the side, and the larger ones fall into a loose pile. So the dust seems to be separated out and I get about as much mud in the cup as I was getting with grounds from the "public" grinder at the supermarket.

Mr. Coffee burr grinder MX3
by beehive45 ,Dec 04 '05
Pros: I liked its compact size and the controls did their job. Cons: It didn't function properly for at least a full year.
I bought this machine after an unsuccessful foray with a grinder/brewer. It seemed great for the first 6 months and then the problems started. It has a serious design flaw in that you have to forcibly hold the grind container against the body of the machine or it will not start.
The problem lies in the safety cut off switch. I really liked it when I first got it, but I have now decided to try out a hand powered grinder instead. When it worked, the beans ground perfectly and the cup size selector along with the degree of coarseness selector worked very well.

Pros: Small footprint, grinds 1-12 cups at a time, easy to clean Cons: Noise will wake the dead, but it works well
Have been using mine for two+ years, makes a good grind for my needs. I’ve experienced no problems with using it.
