Pros: Durable, Grinds Perfectly, Easy to Clean, Price Cons: Very Loud
There's no better cure for exhaustion, than a good night of sleep. However, that is not always possible, so you have to substitute this for a less natural remedy. There are "Go-Pills" that you can buy at a convenience store, that will keep you awake, but ...
Pros: Easy to use and clean, and grinds quickly and efficiently. Cons: Loud. Spout in top of lid is not user friendly and can be messy.
I like my coffee fresh and for that reason I prefer to grind my own beans. While looking for a grinder I made sure not to buy the cheapest one out there, but at the same time could not see the point in paying a lot of money, either. The Mr. Coffee ...
Pros: Plethera of features and settings. Grinds without hesitation in seconds. Easy to use and clean. Cons: Some features rather hidden. Recommended bean amounts are a bit excessive.
I’ll start by agreeing with another review for this product – the Mr. Coffee IDS77 is a blade grinder rather than a burr grinder. Nowhere on the package does it state that the IDS77 is a burr grinder, so I’m not totally sure where Epinions.com got ...
Pros: Easy to clean. Nice to have course grind. I like the grind and pour container. Cons: I would like it to grind a little courser.
I bought this grinder because it had the option of course grind. I use a french press and really can't afford a good burr grinder, but like to grind my coffee fresh. One thing I found with this grinder is if I set it on 6 cups like my pot size I get too ...
Pros: Size, price, grind quality is good enough unless you make espresso or french pressed coffee. Cons: Cleaning arms wore down and broke.
Hi, We loved this bean grinder. It was inexpensive, grind was variable based on settings, consistent enough for our liking. The best feature is that it is so mall to store. The second best feature is that the bean cup the grinding blades comes off ...
Pros: Gives a good grind while minimizing the guesswork. Cons: "Cleaning System" is overhyped on box.
Power cord contains lead!
What attracted me to this product was the claim on the box about a "cleaning mechanism that clears the grounds from the side of the grinding chamber" and words like "No messy residue." Since I mentioned it to someone else as a gift idea (for me), I ...
A standard "BLADE" grinder with some LEDs... by grinderboy ,Sep 04 '05
Pros: Looks more high tech than other grinders. Removable cup to pour into coffee maker Cons: TALL, BLADE grinder NOT BURR grinder. On-off nub will cease to work with wear.
First off, this is misrepresented here as a Burr grinder. It is in fact a "BLADE" grinder. The chamber maid cleaning system is actually 3 supports that run up the walls to help keep the chamber clean. Depending on the coffee you grind, this usually doesn't help at all and with more oily beans actually helps trap coffee against the walls which needs to be cleaned by hand. The LEDS, CUPS and GRIND settings are actually nothing more than one timer setting. The number of cups does nothing more than adjust the time in conjuction with the grind setting. The more cups you have the longer the grinder runs, the finer the grind the longer the grinder runs. On-off switch in the lid is a very tiny nub of plastic that activates a very tiny switch. I can't wait to see how long that lasts after opening and closing the lid a hundred times or so.
Pros: Consistent timed grind, looks great, grinding assembly goes in dishwasher. Cons: None so far
This is by far the best grinder I have owned. I like the fact that all soiled pieces can go in the dishwasher, easy clean up. The "cleaning system" helps remove grinds from the wall of the grinder, I find it functional.
The settings adjust the grind time so there is no guess work and the grind is consistent which is extremely important.
The lead warning on the cord is no surprise, China uses lead in much of it's rubber/plastic manufacturing. It is due to recognition of a problem that has been around for many years. This warning could apply to most of the cords we use.
Pros: Cheap and easy to use. Cons: Instructions should tell you that the ground beans will increase in volume.
I bought the coffee grinder to go with an espresso machine I received as a gift. I didn't really shop around as the price was under $20 at WalMart. I chose this one because it had different grinds programmed into the machine. This was perfect for me because I don't know a lot about grinding coffee! I have had the grinder about three weeks.
I find that the cleaning is easy. Yes, some grinds get behind the bowl scraper parts, but a good rinse takes care of that. I believe the scrapers are to help you be able to pour or scoop the coffee, not as an ultimate cleaning too. I have not put mine in the dishwasher yet because a simple rinse under the faucet seems more than adequate.
I like that feature that allows you to remove the grinding chamber. That makes it a lot less scary that using a spoon on something that's still attached to the motor.
Although I bought the grinder for the espresso machine, I tried it out for regular drip coffee and am super happy! The coffee tasted much fresher and was a deeper color.
