Pros: Great graphics, sound, and much improved AI Cons: Still too easy to beat the computer on any skill level
Around the end of September every year, I make a daily pilgrimage to my local Future Shop to check the new releases section for the latest release of EA Sports yearly offering of their NHL hockey series. Because, I live in a relatively small town in...

Pros: The best computer game ever made. Cons: Biff
I have been an E A Sports hockey fan since 1994. I played nonstop with my friend Ross. We played every day, and we got really good at it. E A then came out with 95, which we looked so much forward to, but which underceded our expectations very much....

Pros: best graphics in a hockey game yet Cons: horrible flaws in AI, and gameplay
You'd think a series would get better over time. EA's NHL 2000 suddenly brightens my mood after i heard that EA will not be producing for the dreamcast. I've had every EA sports hockey title since NHLPA '93 for the genesis. NHL 98 was the first PC hockey...

Pros: superb graphics/sound, no competition, a definite improvment over it's predecessors Cons: still plays more like an arcade game than an accurate simulation
Living in central Indiana, I have the misfortune of having no exposure to hockey other than ESPN broadcasts. (Our minor-league team's name is, no joke, The ICE. Yes, our mascot is frozen water. BRILLIANT!) However, this limited exposure has convinced...

Pros: Amazing Graphics, Superior Gameplay, easy interface Cons: Primarily an arcade game, puck physics aren't realistic
EA Sports has a reputation for producing graphically beautiful games, and NHL 2000 makes it obvious why. The player models are stunning, with a level of detail that pushes the limits of current PC graphics technology. The way their faces are animated to...

Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing
Awesome, awesome, awesome! I have never seen a hockey game look so good. I mean the graphics are awesome, the gameplay is awesome and the smoothness of it is awesome. I have followed the EA Sports NHL games since 98 and each year, it continued to...

Pros: Excellent graphics, realistic play, players in the game reflect their performanc in the NHL Cons: Crappy music, boring color commentary - same stories a million times.
I think the only bad thing I can say about this game is that the background music sucks. So I turn it down low and have a good time.
My happiness with this game relates mostly to having previously only played the EA Sports NHL games on...

Pros: Awsome gameplay, Options Galore, Good interface Cons: Internet Gameplay, Too many Injuries
They went straight down the center, And hits this puck top shelf. No chance.
What a Game! Now, I have NHL 97-99 and those were fun, of course, the big flaw in 97 was the obvious skate-stop by the goal and it would slide in. 98 was the...

Pros: Improvement on the best Cons: Need roster updates for seasons in progress
As someone who has played EA SPorts NHL games since NHL '95, I am amazed at their ability to keep improving the game from year-to-year. More than simply taking advantage of advances in graphics cards, EA always manages somehow to improve the realism...

Pros: great graphics, can play a full season Cons: too easy to score, fighting could be better
This is a super game. The graphics are wonderful; many of the players look like they do in real life. The game contains numerous camera angles and skill levels, which make it easy for anyone to play. The players are capable of doing almost anything-...

Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: NONE
NHL 2000 is the greatest hockey simulation game ever made. After buying and playing NHL 96-99 I can see how much superior this version of the game is to past versions released. This new version also comes with new features which are very cool. First...

Pros: Great graphics, gameplay, replay value Cons: High scoring games
When I first saw NHL 2000 on the shelf, I was very skeptical. Previous installments in the NHL series were very stale and the control was not that good. NHL 2000 solves all the problems of the previous installments of the game. This game rocks in...

Pros: Fun at first, fast gameplay, extra features Cons: too easy, not anything like real hockey
Normally, I am not particularly good at video games, but this one is about as easy as they come once you get the hang of it. A normal hockey score would be about four to two, and one player with three goals (a hat trick) is a major accomplishment....

Pros: Graphics, Creation Mode, Gameplay Cons: The AI is sometimes weak
This game is BY FAR the best sports game in the world today. The series keeps getting better and better (in my opinion). Most of the computer game magazines say High Heat Baseball is the best sports game probably because they are American magazines. If...

Pros: great fun Cons: none
I could easily understand somebody not wanting to try this after the two previous games. NHL 98 was had fast action and hard hits - not to mention the fights, but was ridiculously hard to score on. Then there was NHL 99, ridiculously easy to score but...
