Soilwork balances Chaos and precision on their strongest release

by punkrawka Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Mar 31 '07
Pros: A brilliant fusion of intensity and sophistication
Cons: Just a few tracks that fall below the mark of the others.
Soilwork is one of those odd cases where I developed a minor (OK, major) obsession with the band much faster than my Epinionating could keep up -- and so today, I find myself with the complete discography of a high-quality Swedish melodic metal band, and ...

Natural Born Killer!

by lionman66 , Dec 19 '02
Pros: Fantastic production, tight arrangements, sharp guitar work
Cons: Hardly any to speak of
Sweden has produced a vast amount of Metal acts in the last decade, most of them looming in the underground, while several are gaining major worldwide interest in Metal circles. In Flames are clearly the frontrunners, having blazed a path for other bands...

Accessible, poppy melodic death metal

by bpontzer , Dec 29 '02
Pros: Great melodic pop/death metal, amazing Devin Townsend production
Cons: Poor lyrics, lack of depth
I am not a fan of death metal, so I was totally suprised when I heard "Natural Born Chaos". Slick, catchy clean vocals and great, poppy tunes with a slight prog edge. I couldn't believe my ears! I loved this album at first. But the problem with it, ...

I can't think of a good title.

by the_clansman , Jan 30 '04
Pros: One of the best albums released in the past 5 years.
Cons: Radio stations would rather play the god awful St. Anger.
This is Soilwork's Fourth CD (released 2002)ion it is a masterpiece. This is the album where everything comes together. Everything adds another dimension to the music, from the keyboards, to the ripping guitars, to the incredible vocals and drums. I ...

Hold on to your uglies, this cd crushes!!!

by cheektongue , May 21 '04
Pros: Musical brilliance wrapped up in a full metal jacket!
Cons: None, get out and grab this cd!!!
This is def one of the best, if not the best, cd I have gotten in the past 3 years. I thought Predators Portrait was going to be hard to top, but guess what......Soilwork has done it again. This is, bar none, hands down, their "Crowning Glory". ...

Soilwork's best album

by idlehands211 , May 19 '03
Pros: Excellent album
Cons: none
In my opinion this album is Soilwork's best to date, and that includes Figure Number Five. With a wide range of heavy and melodic vocals, this album shows a little for everyone who listens to heavy metal. Killer guitar and drums accompany the vocals...

Absolute Soilwork
by syl77 ,Aug 21 '07
Pros: Amazing keybord driven harmonies. Great guitar solos
Cons: Couldve been a little longer
Soilwork is an incredible band and i have loved them ever since i picked up the Chainheart Machine. But natural born chaos is a masterpiece. each of the albums 10 songs are amazing, and when an album is produced by Strapping Young Lad frontman Devin Townsend, you know its good. The track that I love the most is As We Speak, which has a great opening and an excellent solo. The keyboard driven melodies that Soilwork is known for is more dominant in this 2002 studio album (as they can be heard more clearly than in the other albums previous to this one. This album is a fantastic music experience do yourself a favor and pick it up at your local record store. Its worth every dime!!
