Nikon Eagleview (8-24x25) Binocular

Pros: small and fun. easy to use with one hand.
Cons: image shaky at anything over 12x. only comes with lens covers for the eyepieces.

My first binos. Works good. Pretty much useless at 24x. The image is too dark (unless you look at a light bulb). And it is impossible to keep it the image from shaking profusely at anything over 12x. Thus higher zoom is not always better, you will be dissapointed if you get some fancy 20x ones...you will not be able to use them without tripod. Find that we use it most often at 8x to 10x range. Thus I would recommend getting a non-zoom one, preferably NIKON. I would suggest a 10x. The neckstrap is way too short to hang it from my neck and under my arm. Thus I would NOT recommend to a friend. Instead I would recommend nikon travelite 10x.
