Pros: comfortable wet electric shave with lotion Cons: you can get a comfortable shave or a relatively close one but not both
This is the third wet electric razor Ive owned. I got pretty good use for several years from a Panasonic Linear 8067 but had to reluctantly let it go when the blades become dull and replacement blades were not available. I had seen some reviews ...
Pros: Very close, soothing shave. 60 day Money Back guarantee, 2 year warranty. Cons: High price. Large battery charger. No built-in trimmer. Cheap plastic look.
I've owned only five razors in my shaving lifetime, four of which have been Norelcos. The last one, purchased in 1988. While it still works and gives a close shave, the batteries will hold a charge only for a few minutes. I decided the time had come to ...
Pros: Improved design, versatile, comfortable, fast-charging, no burns nicks or cuts. Cons: Steep price, shop for bargains; lotion packets can be expensive so shop online.
A bad ski injury two years ago cost me the use of my right hand for the better part of a year, making many tasks including shaving with a straight razor impossible. I bought Norelco's top lotion-dispensing model, then called the "Advantage" line, ...
Pros: Battery life, easy to clean. Cons: Didn't cut beard all that well in certain areas. Expensive lotion, charger, lotion system.
My father graced with with a barb wire beard. I tried a Braun foil shaver many years ago and it didn't work well at all. I figured maybe electric shavers have made enough advancement to deal with my beard since the Braun. After looking at products ...
Pros: Superb shaving experience.
Cuts far closer than a regular razor and cream.
Cons: Cost of lotion packets.
I had been using shaving cream and traditional razor since my early teens. That method saw me in the dermatologist's office repeatedly due to skin irritation, ingrown hairs, and skin infections. I had even tried to buy an old Braun electric shaver to use ...
Pros: Very close shaves, charge last a long time, lotion makes it glide over your skin. Cons: Can get mildew on it if you leave it in the shower all the time
I've used electric razors since 1973, this is the best one I've ever used. I have had this one about a year. I have used dry razors with the powder sticks and this is much better!
Best Norelco Shaver I have owned by logan10 ,Jul 12 '04
Pros: Shaving in the shower, Close Shave, Works Great Cons: The shaving gel/lotion packets are hard to find in the stores here.
This is the 3rd Norelco Shaver I have owned now. All of them are the top of the line at the time. This one is great, primarily because it can be used in the shower, and it gives a really close shave. I've always had trouble shaving under my chin and down the front of my neck without getting my skin irritated, but this one does it with no irritation.
Norelco Cool Skin not so "cool" by cyberdecker ,Oct 20 '04
Pros: Looks good and is durable. Gel/Lotion dispenser is convenient. Clipper attachment is nice. Cons: Does NOT leave a close shave. Gel/lotion packets are expensive. Manual shaving is faster.
I have used a shaving razor all my life and decided to try an electric razor after hearing so many good things about them. The Norelco Cool Skin (7775) is one of Norelco's top of the line electric razor boasting their closest shave and a comfortable one with their gel/lotion release system.
I'm not certain what kind of close shave they mentioned but I found that this shaver does not provide a close shave at all. As recommended, I used the shaver for an extended period of time (6 weeks) in order to have my hair "become used to the shaver" (whatever that means). Even after this time, I have not found any improvement. The shave is not even remotely as fine as my old razor nor is it any faster or more efficient to use.
I was really hoping for more from an electric shaver. For all you users of the old classic manual razor, stick with it. Sometimes old tech is just tested, tried, and true.
Pros: I have none since I did not use the razor. Cons: NiCad batteries have memory so you can,t keep them topped off.
I bought this razor this morning. I thought I was buying a quality high end product. I was appalled to find that the razor uses NICAD batteries and can not be used with the cord when the batteries are discharged or fail to charge. I have owned only Norelco razors for 30 years and this is the first one that does not have an internal power supply.
I intend to return this poorly designed unit to the store tomorrow. For the price I paid I expected Lithium ion or at a minimum NIMHd batteries and the ability to use the ac cord to shave if the batteries are down.
I travel a lot and with this razor I would have to take all the loose pieces with me in case the batteries go down on the road. I would also have to tote a conventional razor and shaving cream to use if the battery dies. My old Norelco only needed a cord to be usable and to recharge on the road.
Loved this purchase - former Braun user by i-guy ,Nov 25 '05
Pros: close shave, good battery life, quiet, easy to clean Cons: clunky recharger
thought I would return the favor since I used epinions to help choose this razor for me.
I have used Braun foil shavers for the last 10 years, as my comparison point.
Loved this razor. Very close shave (...no, not as close as a razor), close than the Braun, though.
Thought the lotion might be an annoyance, but it works amazingly well, and does leave the user with 'Cool Skin'. What a difference from the old foil.
One perk which seems silly, but is one of my favorite features, is how quite the unit is. I will not wake up anyone while shaving again.
I have been using this razor for 5 months now. Still only have good things to say about it.
Great battery life, very easy to clean, nice and quiet, fast close shave.
This shaver is GREAT for black men by rodrickg123 ,Jun 12 '06
Pros: easy to clean and easy to use nice clean shave Cons: it's sturdy but fragile around the head so don't shake it hard.
When you start out you have to give your skin time to adjust it may take about three weeks or longer. The result will be a smooth comfortable shave with no irritation.Take it from me I've tried the Norelco spectra, Panasonic 8164 and the Remington smooth bump control razor and none gave me results like the Norelco 7775 cool skin, using it in the shower works the best. I recommend that you just buy the Nivea shave gel or cream because the lotion packs are just trouble and it saves you money in the long run. So if you suffering from razor bumps and skin irritation this is a must have and when your shaving don't press to hard the hair that it does not pick up just give it time after your skin adjust it will get all of it. This razor is worth the money you pay for it.
Pros: Close and comfortable Cons: A bit slower than a blade shave
This is my first electric, and I'm 48 yrs old with a pretty heavy beard. I just got tired of the old wet blade shave and saw one of these at Walgreens, bought it online at Costco for $129. I give it five stars - it shaves close, comfortable (after a couple of weeks per the recommendations). It takes a bit longer than a blade shave perhaps, and to get close you have to push hard and rub the blades against your skin, but you can do this without cutting your face or irritation. Well worth the money, and the included clipper is really great as you can trim moustache, eyebrows, ears, etc. without fear of overcutting. I don't know why this is, but it just works. A great device.
