Pros: Inexpensive with all the features you need. Cons: Uses 4 AAA batteries which some may find excessive.
After searching many hours for a good universal remote, I found the One For All (OFA) URC8811. I had first purchased the OFA URC6131 but without the "learning" feature, it was impossible to program all the buttons from the original remote. One for All ...
Pros: inexpensive; flexible; powerful; nice key selection; jp1 support yields extraordinary power. Cons: older model -- device codes for recent devices will be limited.
I have an extensive home theater system and have been repeatedly frustrated when trying to consolidate all of my remote controls in a single universal remote. Most universal remotes have severe limitations -- sometimes inconsistently so. I had one ...
Pros: Replaced three remotes completely by utilizing the IR learning feature.
Cons: Documentation has very tiny print and some typos. Download the PDF manual.
I've purchased three OneForAll remotes in my life. The first was an ancient URC 4060B06, which I still use, a Kameleon URC-9960 (a big mistake), and now the URC-8811. My motivation in buying the URC-8811 was to replace the URC-9960 (read my review) ...
Pros: Controls every thing I want/need, still has ability to do more! Cons: None so far!
I just have to echo everyone’s comments for this remote! It is the best for the money remote to be found bar none, period! Now, to be fare, I bought the UCR-8810w at Wal-Mart (has every thing the URC08811 has). I too researched high and low for a ...
Pros: Excellent device support and programmability; backlight is nice Cons: Not terribly elegant; some buttons are hard to find the first time
I got this after being a bit disappointed in my Sony RMV-301 universal remote (see my other review). The main reason was because it was programmable, and it was able to control audio receivers. It's amazing how many 5- or 6-device remotes only do video ...
Pros: Price, learning, features, lighted keypad, generally good documentation, battery life, looks, feel Cons: Limited memory for learning buttons, more learning buttons (almost any can be learning) than memory!
Update 1/9/5: I have used this remote for a while. While this still may be the best remote for the price, I must reduce its rating from 5 starts to about 3 stars due to one simple shortcoming: it has fairly limited learning memory capacity. Tons of ...
Pros: Works well with old models that are in their code books Cons: No support for new equipment. No customer support.
I have a pretty busy home theater system. DVD DVD-R a digital theater amp, a cable box, a VCR, a CD player and a TV. I thought that it would be a good idea to get a remote to handle all of this stuff. I have used One for alls before and they work well and last a long time.
One for all is selling these "upgradable" universal remote without new codes so you will have to call. ( It's a toll call) to get the remote to work with the DVD-R and Theater amp. I tried the web site, no help there. The web site says fill out the model number, brand and so on and my name address and email address only to have it say "Please Resubmit Your Request. This page cannot be accessed directly." Ok I say to myself I will call the number. They only man the phones for 8AM to 5PM EST.
No help to day. I'm sending it back and buying an RCA from target.
