Pros: Pros for ING: No fees, good interest rate, simple, can make money from referrals. Cons: ING Cons: link only 3 accounts (4 for VB), interest rate not high as VB.

I first heard about ING Direct 3 years back. They sent me a 25$ joining bonus letter and I threw it away not having any confidence on online banks. In the meantime, however, I could not help but pay attention to their marketing, and it attracted me - ...
Pros: -web site

Easy-Peasy Beautiful Banking by beyondmemes ,May 19 '06
Pros: Very good security measures. Feels very "friendly" even though you don't deal with people. Cons: Haven't encountered any yet.
I can't say enough good things about ING. Yes, it is no-frills banking, but I think of the money there as savings not cash, and in that case it really couldn't get any simpler. Since I've opened an account, they gave me money just for opening it (free money!) and kept raising interest rates regularly. Every time I get an email that they increased my rate, I go and put more money in... which I guess is what they're trying to coax me into doing, but it really keeps me motivated to put in a little extra. Their CD rates are pretty good too and with CDs for as little as a year, you'd be crazy not to take advantage if you have some extra cash. By contrast, my Wachovia CD, which I'm locked into for a while longer, is earning way under inflation :(
ING Direct HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE by selene22 ,Aug 03 '05
Pros: Rates, sign on bonus Cons: Deplorable customer service. This company simply does not care.
I signed up for the $25 bonus and the great rates, put some money in and left it there. If you plan to do this forever, things may be fine for you. If you ever plan to change your address or do anything else, you can expect to be treated very badly. It is quite obvious that courtesy and consideration are not a part of customer service rep training. Expect to jump through hoop after flaming hoop to get things done, without a hint of empathy from anyone at ING. Their "security" procedures involve extremely invasive questioning, making it obvious that their reps in the US and India have your entire credit history at their disposal at all times. It is obvious from the reviews on this site that just about anyone who has needed customer service from ING runs into incompetence and insanity. I am in the process of closing my account - I think I'm on step 9 or 10. UGH.
Pros: Easy to use once set up. Great plain vanilla savings. Cons: May be lengthy set-up process or account changes.
ING Direct may take a little while to set up, and it may take a little while for them to process account changes...
but...
If all you really want is an interest bearing savings account, which is conveniently separate from your other bank accounts, ING Direct is fantastic. It absolutely delivers on it's promise of great interest rates (sure they don't compare to other investment opportunities, but if you want that you shouldn't be looking at ING Direct anyway).
Their service is easy to use, no false promises, no big hassles.

I have been with ING direct Canada for a year now, and so far so good. Best rates out there. I have a Savings account and a GIC account. No hidden fees whatsoever. Excellent customer service. You can also make 260$ easy by referring up to 20 people. They also give you a debit card where you can make up to 4 free widthdrawal every month.
Pros: high interest rates Cons: poor customer service
There are a number of advantages of using ING.. most obviously their superior interest rates.. unfortunately, my experience with their customer service has been, to put it mildly, disappointing.
