Pros: Cheap costs, low rate Cons: No-nothing phone reps, no dedicated person servicing your account, terrible intercompany communication
I needed to re fi my condo recently and get out of a horrible 80/20 mortgage I got two years ago (was largely a bad deal because I was a 1st time buyer, fresh out of grad school with little job history, etc.) I couldn't bear the idea of paying another ...

Pros: Great Rates, Great Customer Service Cons: No Storefront
About a year ago, I got quite fed up with my local credit union. So I decided to keep my money somewhere else. Initially I was looking just for a place for savings, not somewhere to transfer my checking account to, and using http://www.bankrate.com, I...

Pros: INCREDIBLE rates, easy to use, no fees or minimum balance, great complement to regular bank! Cons: None at all for me, but others may dislike having no physical building.
UPDATE: When I wrote this review, the APY for INGDirect's Orange Savings Account was already incredible at 2.35%. However, since it's a variable interest rate, I'm now receiving 3.8% -- on my savings account! Why bother with a CD that ties ...

Pros: Great web site, easy to use, great interest rate. Cons: None.
So I am tired of being broke. Well I'm not really broke, but I'm a few of paychecks in my savings account from being out on the street if I lose my job! Financial experts are always informing the public that they need at least 3 months' worth of ...

Pros: High Interest Rates, Ease of Use, Best Online Checking Account Cons: No Branch Offices
Brief: While I would not recommend ING Direct being a users only bank, it is an essential tool that no serious online banker should be without. If you are currently not doing any online banking, ING can be a great place to start with a complete ...

Pros: great interest rates, no minimum opening amount, can track the interest earned so far Cons: delay in transferring money, no monthly statements mailed to you
When I first read about ING Direct, I was skeptical. How could this bank, back then offering a 3% interest rate on their savings account, do so, without any strings attached? Every other bank's interest rate is hovering around a low .45%. Well, now I ...

Pros: free $25 to join, $10 for referrals, secure, and a whopping 3.80% interest! (December 2005) Cons: electronic transfers are slow, but this is a National problem, not an ING issue
Background I'm rather new to the financial game. Just married in October 2004, I recently began looking into various aspects of financial wellness. As I've already racked up over $100,000 in student loans, I'm concerned about planning for ...

Pros: Good interest rate, "safe" investment, good customer service Cons: Hold times on deposits/withdrawls, not a checking account
I love ING Direct for one reason - it saves my money. It is exactly what it is advertised as - a place to save your money. What it isn't, however, is a regular bank. ING Direct works like a bank - you put your money in, it gathers interest until you ...

Pros: Extremely user-friendly Cons: Transaction detail is not very descriptive.
ING Direct is what savings accounts should be all about. I currently have a savings account and two CDs with ING Direct and will continue doing business with them as long as they remain innovative and competitive. I've been a customer since 2001 and...

Pros: High Interest, Spectacular Customer Service, Internet Bank, Great Privacy Policy they really stick to. Cons: No checking account, can not immediately access my money, limited relationship.
If you read my review of Compubank which alas is no more, you know that I love to receive excellent customer service and made to feel that I am important to that business. After Compubank was sold to Netbank one of the worst in customer service ...

Pros: high interest rate.
no fees.
no bank switching required. Cons: holds on funds.
Where you choose to open a savings account is just as important as what you are saving for. Opening a savings account in any bank may lead to your balance falling as a result of such things as a minimum balance fee. How much is the bank paying you to ...

Pros: Good interest rate, very friendly service, free money (write to me) Cons: Time required to transfer money, deposit holds
Like many people, I was attracted by the $25 sign on bonus. But I didn't sign up for a long time because of concerns that this was an Internet bank. Finally, I took the plunge and have discovered that this has indeed been a very pleasant ...

Pros: Rates, ease of use, friendly customer service Cons: Mutual fund screen could be a little more detailed.
Features and Benefits ING Direct offers very few options to use, but that's ok. ING Direct is only designed for a few specific things. They offer: + savings accounts + CD's with terms up to five years + Mortgages + Home-equity loans + ...
