The ORLECK 4000 Air Purifier is one of the absolute best appliances I have ever bought. I am the proud parent of two Cockatiel's who leave a white dust from their down (dander) I also live on the Lake and I was noticing an extreme amount of dust around my house including this white film of dust which I eventually figured out was from the birds.
I ended up getting very sick and when I say sick I mean sick. It started with sinuses and from there it turned into a bronchitis infection. My Doctor was treating me with antibiotics for nearly three weeks nothing was working. I started looking at the picture in a whole and put two and two together. I ordered the ORLECK 4000 after doing some homework here on epinions and made my final decision based on they're coverage of the house verse the other purifiers and I must say I am very happy with the results. It does a wonderful job. I'm not 100% dust free but close to it. I HIGHLY recommend this ORLECK 4000

While we have a whole house air purifier built into our furnace - I could not live with out my Oreck. We have a two story house - that is quite open. I run it upstairs in a loft. It cleans the air for the entire house - even with one large dog.
We were having our carpets cleaned and the guy stated that the air in our house just smelled great.
When we lived in a smaller house - I had a table version of this cleaner. After five years of running all the time it bought the farm. We have had our new Oreck for about four years - running ALL the time. NOT one problem.
Would recommend buying "Zap It" from a Oreck dealer to clean the filter.
When it is on Quiet you hear NOTHING. Do wish there was a speed between Quiet and high, though.
I would love if my whole house air cleaner performed as well as my Oreck!

I have Air 4000 for about 2 years. All of a sudden it stopped
running. I emailed Oreck customer service and have
not received any response for 2 weeks. I also called
Oreck customer service, heard the recording, and after holding
the phone for 30 minutes with no one answer, I hang up.
It works good when it is running.
