Pros: Great suction. On-board tools. 25-foot cord. Extension wands. Floor tool. Quiet operation. Great warranty. Cons: None.
The Oreck Super-Deluxe BB870AD Canister Vacuum is the most fabulous canister vacuum on the market. At first glance, the price may seem way too far up there, but this vacuum is hands down the best in its class and well worth more than the retail price. ...

I'm disappointed
by sue8799 ,Jun 21 '08
Pros: Excellent suction, good on upholstery and molding. Easy to change bags. Cons: Cumbersome. Noisy. Uncomfortable for larger jobs. Hose too short and detaches while in use.
The Canister Vacuum came free with the upright. I love, love, love the upright but the canister is for the birds. If you don't have strong shoulders this vacuum will really bother you after a while. It doesn't seem to be ergonomically designed; it is awkward and unbalanced, and if you bend over, the vacuum slides in front of you and gets in the way of what you're doing. You have to have some kind of box or container to store it in because the tools are NOT onboard, which also means you have to go back and forth to get the tools you need or carry them with you in your pocket or something. The hose is too short to allow you to leave the vacuum on the floor while using it, so it must be carried all the time. I would not recommend this for anything more than quick cleanups and cobwebs in high places.

Not My Mom's Vacuum Cleaner
by tea_addict28 ,May 23 '05
Pros: no bending, lightweight, small, comfortable, strong suction Cons: none
I purchased this vacuum from oreck.com out of sheer disgust with my own filthy house. I have been living in an old, dusty house for two years and I think I may have pushed the old clunky vacuum that came with it once.
I just vacuumed dust balls, mice turds, and other various bits of waste from all over the two floors of this house, and let me tell you, it was fun, and I am not tired!! This was definitely worth it. When I think about my mom's vacuum cleaners growing up, this one beats them all by far.

Perfect for Small Spaces
by dharmagarden ,Oct 07 '06
Pros: Lightweight, easy to carry, easy to store, strong suction Cons: none
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this vacuum cleaner. I've been through so many over the years but it was a real challenge when we moved into a tiny cabin in the woods. With just over 400 square feet of living space, two dogs and a teenager, I needed a vacuum cleaner that was compact but powerful. The Oreck Super Deluxe BB870D is GREAT. I don't have carpet (except for very small throw rugs) but it's great on my hardwood floors and being able to carry it around has been a dream. Any other vacuum cleaner would be impossible to move around the house without running into furniture or stairs or appliances. I use it in my car, on the front porch and with the mini-tools, I clean my computer keyboard, windowsills and cracks and crevices all over the place. I guess if your house was really really filthy, you might need something more heavy-duty but for daily use in our house, it's been great!

Worst design of a small vac I ever encountered
by esinvirginia ,Oct 12 '07
Pros: Came free with the upright Cons: Very frustrating and awkward to use for general house cleaning.
The vacuum's design is faulty. The size of the vacuum is great and it is light weight. The main problem is the length of the flexible hose, which is only about 30 inches long. This is way too short to allow for free arm movements with the canister hanging on the shoulder. Called Oreck to inquire if there was a longer hose, but apparently all models are designed the same way. The attachments are simply pushed together, so every time I attempt to reach a corner with the vacuum hanging on my shoulder, they come apart. The tool looks nice and is light to carry around, but if you want to do more than just picking up a few crumbs, forget this model.

I hate this thing!
by mytme ,Feb 15 '05
Pros: Came free with the Oreck upright Cons: Where to begin . . .
This is the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. It has terrible suction & tiny bags that need to be changed after every other use. The hose gets clogged constantly & does not have the capacity to pick up a tiny speck of styrofoam. I have switched now to a dustpan & broom - I get much better results. Please save your money & find something that actually works - that's why I'm on this website.

Not So Super-Deluxe
by gateraid ,Mar 21 '06
Pros: None Cons: Useless on carpet
This thing may be able to pick up a bowling ball, but it won't pick up the normal stuff you find on your carpet like lint, fuzz and strings. It certainly was useless on the stairs, which is what the store sold it to me for.
