Pros: Nice long cord, plenty of power. Cons: no attachments on vacuum.
Why I bought the Oreck: I was tired of cheap vacuums breaking under heavy usage. Yes, we have pets, and yes, we have four children, but that doesn't mean that a vacuum has the right to wimp out on us, does it? Where I bought the Oreck: ...
Pros: very light weight. Cons: loss of suction after one bag change, and no onboard acessories. Expensive vacuum and accessories.
I want everyone to read this review because, I am not a recent buyer of this vacuum, I am writing this review after purchasing this vacuum about 2 and half years ago (I bought this vacuum in October 2005). Thus today my oreck works minimal to what it is ...
Pros: Great suction power, super light weight, compact Cons: Expensive, uses bags
Like the previous reviewer, I bought my Oreck at a store location in Greenville, SC. I also went to the store on two separate ocassions. The first time I was sticker shocked that a vacuum could cost so much money and told the salesman I didn't know if ...
Pros: Very powerful machine for only 8 pounds! Cons: Lack of attachments. But still the smallest best thing you can buy.
Why I bought it...I needed something small and affordable for my apartment. I wanted a quality vacuum for a lower price. Where I bought it... I bought online at eBay from a company that sold refurbished Orecks with a 1 year ...
Pros: Great job cleaning, very light Cons: No attachments, some cheap materials
I must say I'm quite impressed with this vaccum. First off, it's not too noisy. I have heard more quiet ones, but they aren't nearly as powerful as this beast! I will say, I have a cheap 6lbs machine I use to clean upstairs. However, this 8lbs Oreck ...
I purchased the Oreck XL vacuum because my wife and I grew tired of lugging our 30 pound Kirby up and down the stairs. This little 8 pound vacuum packs a punch! When I received the vacuum, the only thing to do was attach the handle. Just the turn of ...
Pros: Light weight, compact, long grounded electrical cord, easy to clean and change the bags. Cons: Hard to get to roller and belt for cleaning. Bags are a little pricey.
WHY I BOUGHT IT: This is a great vacuum! It's powerful and light and with two small dogs in the house it is well used. I actually have owned this vacuum now for several years. I have to say I bought this vacuum used and I was told that it is actually ...
Pros: Weight, power of motor, use on bare, carpeted or tiled floor, rough or flat. Cons: Nearness of repair places.
I have enjoyed my Oreck XL2 for three years. With three cats, 2 long-haired, and one black long-haired dog, it has been a joy to operate. The light weight has been a treat. Also, it's ability to go under my bed to vacuum up cat hair has been a real ...
Pros: Cleans Excellent
Lightweight and easy to push
No dust and dirt flying through the air Cons: A little pricy - but worth it!
I love this vacuum. The bags are very easy to install. Before this vacuum, I had several of the bagless because I thought that was the way to go - wrong! This vacuum is so light and easy to much. It cleans remarkably well. I love to vacuum now, I ...
Pros: Very lightweight 8 pounds Cons: Costly if I bought it new.
This vacuum rocks. It is easy to handle and move around. It puts less stress on my back and it really picks up tons of cat hair. I have 3 cats that constantly shed and it is so easy to pull this baby out and clean the condo in a short amount of time. ...
Pros: light weight, long cord (30 ft), quick release cord holder, functional design. Cons: pricey but you can purchase one of the factory reconditioned models for 50% off
The Oreck looks something like an old style upright that my grandmother had. However, it weighs 8 lbs instead of over 16lbs for the old vacuum. In addition to being lightweight, the Oreck is more powerful, quieter, dust free, and does a better ...
Great suction, lightweight by kncarman ,Feb 19 '08
Pros: great suction, very light Cons: have to buy bags
We decided to buy an oreck when our bagless vaccum just wasn't doing the job. I love this vaccum, it sucks just about everything. It is so light that it is easy to carry up and down the steps.
Most people don't like the fact that the attachments aren't on the vaccum, but I love it. I think that it is so much easier to vaccum the stairs and along the walls.
I don't ever sweep my floors anymore, I vaccum all of my linoleum. I works so great. no more worrying about all the dust, it goes in the bag and then I am done with it.
I also like to put a car air freshner in the vaccum bag and then it freshens your house as you vaccum.
When we first bought the vaccum, we vaccummed with our bagless then went over it with the oreck and it was absolutely amazing what we picked up.
Pros: NONE Cons: WORKS POORLY
BREAKS FREQUENTLY
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
VERY EXPENSIVE
After seeing David Oreck's smiling face on numerous TV spots over the years I decided to spend a more money than I had planned on a new vacuum cleaner and buy an Oreck. BIG MISTAKE!
I have had many vacuum cleaners over the years and the Oreck was the worst of all and the most expensive. From the first day it never picked up dirt well and the rubber belt kept snapping every few days. Not only did it cost me $5 or $6 bucks every time this thing broke but I had to run to the Oreck store to replace it. They kept insisting that it's breaking because I must have high pile carpet, but I don't. Not even close. I have industrial thickness carpet in my house which is about as thin as they come. The company basically told me to get lost and stopped responding to me. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED DAVID ORECK HIS COMPANY ARE CROOKS AND THEIR PRODUCTS ARE A RIPOFF! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY AWAY FROM ORECK!
