Johnny likes his toast with butter and grape jam in the mornings. I like a toasted English muffin with butter melted into it. Honey occasionally wants a waffle without having to use the waffle iron. We got the Oster 6329 2-Slice Toaster to handle those ...
I can't tell you how many toasters I have gone through over the past 50 years or so, but it's a lot. There was a time when I would look for a high end product and spend a pretty penny, thinking I was getting a great machine that would last for many ...
Pros: Slightly retro look, doesn't burn your toast, price Cons: Varying degrees of toastiness, adjustments required
My husband bought this toaster because our old one had finally bit the dust - much to our relief. The reason he bought this one was because it looked simple, uncomplicated, and it was on sale. Being a guy the stainless steel and black (rather than ...
Pros: Grateful I didn't pay any more than about $30.00 for this item. Cons: A very poor example of a toaster. Not worthy of the Oster name.
I bought this toaster a while ago and have been using it for nearly a year. It was bought because I didn't want to buy a super cheap toaster (less than $20) and Oster was a trusted name (I have an Oster blender that I'm happy with). My household ...
Pros: Great basic toaster! Looks good too! Cons: None so far.
I must admit that I bought this toaster for its looks. We needed something that could do the basics and I knew to stay away from a couple of other brand names because of bad past experiences. Not that I was too picky for choosing a toaster - all I want ...
Pros: easy to clean, attractive, inexpensive, lots of functions, pretty blue light Cons: long toast time, tends to over do bagels
I received this toaster as a wedding gift, and I'm very satisfied with its features and performance. I really like the settings buttons. The "frozen" button works well for frozen waffles and pancakes. The "bagel" setting seems to consistently heat the ...
Pros: Looks stylish and worked O.K. for two weeks. Cons: Toasts unevenly. Special settings feature will probably not last for long!
Toaster worked O.K. for 2 weeks, not up to the Oster name, but O.K. I threw away receipt and box. After all what could go wrong with a toaster? Toaster immediately started malfunctioning. Will only work on bagel setting. I checked the warranty. It is valid for 1 year but it requires proof of purchase. It's possible the Target store could provide that, through my credit card number. However, is it worth trying to get Oster to repair it? I'm no toast connoisseur but...The heating elements aren't up as high on the sides as normal toasters, so it doesn't toast the top of normal sized bread. It toasts unevenly. With the same setting, the bread will come out darker or lighter than the time before. One side of the bread will be darker than the other side.
Brand Name Doesn't mean Quality by bobg-in-nc ,Apr 06 '06
Pros: Stylish Cons: Electronics failed after 14 months of minimal use.
After only 14 months with little use, one morning toaster would not pop up. Had to UN plug to prevent cremating the toast. Release button would no longer work. Good thing we were close by. Oster/Sunbeam needs to do some work on their electronics. I would not recommend this toaster.
Pros: Pretty, stylish, easy to clean Cons: Can not accomplish the task of toasting
People kept giving me cheap toasters that would not make toast, I thought I would spring for a nice brand name and some style. I bought it, but didn't use it for a few weeks...then discovered that it is really a bread dryer, not a toaster. Further more, this toaster thinks consistency is for other more petty appliances, toast should never be the same twice in a row...I want to throw it down the arroyo....
Pros: Looks good, small footprint Cons: Just don't last.
I have owned three of these toasters. They work OK. But none of the three have lasted 18 months before they break. Where are the old toasters we owned that worked for 20 years. If you buy this toaster, don't expect more than 12 months of use before it goes in the garbage or is recycled.
Thankfully it's a cheap price... by flr18 ,Mar 14 '09
Pros: Looks good. Cons: The China factory deserves a good spanking by Oster. Bad circuitry. Low life expectancy.
Call me crazy, but I would appreciate a toaster that lasts a long time. I recall the toaster we had during my childhood, I believe it may still be operating. The Oster 6329 two-slice looks good, but it's an unreliable device. Suddenly it stopped popping up and none of the clever buttons worked. I opened it up figuring a loose wire, but all I found were intact electronics and some obvious points where small components had blown out. Too bad. I would gladly have paid double for a good looking counter appliance that truly stood up to daily toasting. When will manufacturers get the picture that a few of us actually prefer not having to replace things every few years!
I've had some crappy toasters before. It seems that no company can make one that will last or that will consistently toast things to the same toastedness. So there's no point in spending a lot, so I got the 6307 (red version of this) this one for $20 at Target.
This one has made it maybe 2 months and now one side doesn't work, necessitating that we rotate the toast and do it again if we want both sides of the bread toasted. Convenient, eh?
It looks nice. And I'm sure it will look just as pretty at the curb or being struck with a baseball bat.
I saw that Target had one for $6.67. I guess there's no point in spending more than that. Now if that one lasts longer than this Oster piece of crap for 1/3 the cost....
I'm now cured of ever buying another Oster product.
Pros: Stylish, efficient, good price for a good toaster. Cons: Hard to keep surface clean.
I received this toaster as a wedding present. I really like it- it is stylish, looks good on the counter, and works great. I like the crumb tray and the cancel button. I think that the blue lights as it operates are great as well. It toasts things well-- it has many different settings as to how brown you like it as well as many different options about what you are toasting. The "frozen" button works well. I think that this is a great toaster for a great price. I have not been disappointed yet, and we use it regularly and have for about 1 year.
Oster needs to recall this model by maddy98 ,Nov 12 '09
Pros: Tests your smoke detectors. Cons: Just hope that wasn't the last Pop-tart.
Model #6329 sold at Target has a major defect. It's circuitry fails and incinerates whatever is inside. It fails on! The only way to get it to stop is to pull the plug. No button or lever works. A flaming toaster in the morning sure beats a cup of coffee to get you awake!
