Pros: Inexpensive, Palm-powered, packed with extra features and programs Cons: Uses AAA batteries, stylus is small and unwieldy, monochrome screen
The Sony CLIÉ PEG-SL10 is a Palm-Powered (Palm OS v.4.1) PDA with a 320 x 320 backlit monochrome screen. In contrast to the monochrome iPAQs (see my review), the CLIÉs screen provides high resolution, excellent visibility, and...
Pros: small form factor, one-hand operation, memory slot, battery life reasonable, uses AAA. Cons: no modem, small stylus.
What to expect from a 2004 review of the Sony Clie SL10 There are already plenty of good reviews of this product. I am posting another one because SL10 is still selling on auction websites. And it is still a good buy. Processor power does not ...
Pros: Cheap, hi-res screen, memory stick, AAA power, small form, bundled software Cons: Dark screen, stylus, small form, free RAM, non-upgradeable OS, slow inefficient memory stick
[ As of this update, my SL10 is alive and well, serving primarily as a backup to my SJ22 for travel. It is a reliable machine, I now have 3, buying them off eBay sometimes as low as $5! Why so many? Because its a good Palm, 99.99% reliable, no ...
Pros: SEEMS like alot of features for the price Cons: Bad overall design, eats AAA batteries, poor screen
I went to Best Buy planning to buy a Palm V series but the low price and long list of features for the Sony Clie SL-10 lured me into a compulsive purchase.
After just a day or two of use, I found out why Palm was still the hardware *and*...
Pros: Palm OS, 100% compatible, hi-res, ez mem upgrades, light, AAA, relatively inexpensive
Cons: monochrome, floppy screen guard (fixed case would be better)
The Sony CLIÉ PEG-SL10 is a Palm OS PDA with a high resolution 320 x 320 backlit monochromatic screen. While shipping with only Palm 4.1 it can be hacked to the Palm OS of your choice easily. Contrary to popular misconceptions, the high...
Pros: looks good and feels good, good screen resolution, AAA batteries, sync through infrared port Cons: screen is not always seen well, stylus is too small
This what I had to say after I just bought it: The pros and cons of this toy compensate each other pretty closely. The major con is the screen. You really need to find a right angle to be able to read it: very often all you can see is the reflection ...
Pros: Slim, ease of use, inexpensive. Cons: Eats AAA batteries like you wouldnt believe. Not many features. Very basic PDA.
I purchased the PEG-SL10 Sony online, on ebay. I purchased it used for 50 dollars. After doing some research I decided on the model as it served exactly what I wanted in a PDA. I needed the word feature to take notes and the calendar function to keep ...
Pros: Cheap and resourceful, stylish, serves its purpose, the best cheap PDA Cons: Eats AAA batteries like nobodies buisness, only black and white(grayscale)
This was purchased for £100 and was impressive the moment i first opened it, It has tons of features ...
Pros: Small, looks good, inexpensive, bundled docs-to-go is nice Cons: Incompatible with some time-proven Palm software. Small dark screen hurts eyes.
SONY Incompatible with Proven PALM software!!!
I picked up the Sony Clie SL10 after looking at it for only a few minutes. I thought the hi-res screen was great and it was nice and pocket-able and inexpensive.
SOFTWARE GLITCH - I lose all my...
Pros: It's a PDA Cons: Unuseable, dark screen, short battery life
Others here think its a good deal. I dont. I love the Clie series for many reason, but the SL-10 is a lemon in my book. Now that Sony has announced they were moving OUT of the PDA market, all this may be moult, After a year my Sony Clie ...
Pros: Jog wheel is great, small size is a plus, USB sync is fast! Cons: Screen is not as readable as old Palm IIIxe
My Palm IIIxe died after two years with a broken glass. I have my entire life on it and had to replace it immediately. I choose the Sony as it had recently gotten a good review on PBS.
I found it to be quick, easy to use with more hardware...
Pros: Price, features, ergonomics Cons: Default font hard to read
I've had my peg sl10 for at least 6 mos and am very happy with it. I got it as a replacement for my dead IIIxe and wanted the following: (1) Alkaline batteries, not rechargables, (2) decent protective cover for the screen. I also wanted to have an...
Pros: -All above mentioned Cons: -Could be white backlighted, 16mb ram
I found out this model much better than any other equivalent price palm-made machine
-It is small.
-Backlight is bright
-There's a backup program inside ROM that words perfectly with memory stick
-Doesn have huge crandles. It uses a small and universal USB cable compatible with sony CyberChot cams. Just use the EasyLaunch hack to hotsync with just one pen stroke.
-I can be used as "pendrive"
-Is reasonably fast.
-***Changeable and cheap AAA Batteries!***
-320x320 of resolution
-Very economic. My AAA 750mA rechargeable batteries lasts over 2 weeks! When batteries run-out I just need to replace them and keeping working anywhere you are!
Greatest little gadget on the market for the price. Great battery life and ease of use. I've seen several other PDA's for a lot more money and they are in color. My cell phone is B&W, so the B&W screen on the Clie' doesn't bother me. The backlight is great. The only thing that bugs me is how do you pronounce Clie'?
