Pros: Low price, nice picture Cons: Short VGA cable, some tweaking required for best picture quality
I purchased my PL913S at Fred Meyer today for $275 with a $75 mail in rebate. I've only used it for a few hours now, but so far I am pretty happy. The screen is clear and sharp. The screen has automatically adjusted itself for height, width and ...

Pros: Looks fancy and modern. Cons: Manufactured under authority of American owned company.
Not that anybody is keeping track, but this seems to be the place I like to go when I've had it with American companies and their crappy let's-slap-some-junk-together-
and-get-their-money
products. Yes, Proview is an American-owned company. I made sure...

Pros: Price, size, good monitor for standard computer uses. Cons: Color balancing tough. Had trouble setting balance. Not good for multimedia.
I purchased this monitor at Staples on sale for $280.00 - a great buy. However, when I got the monitor home and all hooked up I began to notice problems. First of all, I have Dell 1905FP monitors at work so I am quite spoiled with these monitors. ...

A bad product in my opinion
by salm10 ,Mar 04 '05
Pros: Price was dirt cheap for a 19" LCD Cons: Until someone makes a really good driver for this unit, its not worth owning.
Bought this unit for less than $300 which I thought was a deal. Plugged it in, and went to the internet, and the text quality was so bad it was unreadable when using the Plug and Play monitor in Windows 2000. Went to their website, downloaded the latest driver, still no better. Called them up, and they said they had a brand new driver which they emailed to me that would solve all problems. Still didn't help. Called them back, and they told me that my video card was not that good, so I went to another computer in my office that has an ATI Radeon 9200 card on an MSI motherboard. Still no better. Today, I'm bringing it back to Staples. I give up.

Proview Flat Panel
by aplprogrammer ,Mar 04 '05
Pros: Price, space saving, resolution. Cons: The reboots obviously.
I bought the same monitor, also at Staples on sale for $279. Had to bring it back for an exchange about 10 days later because of what I think was a bad pixel. There was a red dot about 1/3 of the way up and square in the middle horizontally. Staples gave me a replacement with no questions asked. Resolution and refresh rate is excellent, streaming video is no problem and clarity is outstanding. I've had one problem that I am trying to fix and I suspect it's due to an out of date driver. I run XP Home with SP2 and I've had 2 reboots in the two weeks I've had this monitor. Computer comes right back on and I get the usual Microsoft "report this problem to us" dialog. The monitor didn't come with any software so I suspect that the driver update is floating around somewhere in cyber land.

Pros: Great resolution with graphics and photos. No complaints with setup or adjustments. DVDs are awesome! Cons: No speakers - but I'll live with the old ones until.......
I purchased this 19" monitor at Staples for $278.00 and thought it was a bargain. Got it home, ditched the 17" CRT I'd had for the last 2 years, and set this one up with ease. Text clarity is as good, if not better than the old monitor; however, the graphics, animation and photo media presentations are excellent. DVDs shine on it!What I really like is the lack of glare from reflected lighting and sun streaming through the windows. Video card is an ATI Radeon 9200, and it serves this monitor well. I went on-line to one of ZDnet's monitor setup programs, used their walk through adjustment proceedures, and was very satisfied.
This LCD is not going back to the store.

Didn't Last
by bcme136 ,Dec 02 '06
Pros: Excellent picture Cons: Quality, customer service
Went dead after 6 months. Two days of constant Long Distance calls to CS to get a return authorization AFTER faxing the purchase receipt. Huge cost to send to repair. Returned in 3 weeks with no explanation.

First time LCD buyer/user
by brian-weed ,Feb 23 '05
Pros: Light weight, good refresh rate, large display, low power consumption Cons: Slight lag issues with FPS's, worse if not in native resolution
Purchased this for $279.00 at Stables on sale. I've held off buying LCD's due to poor reviews with respect to Gaming performance. This unit performs well with DOOM 3 and FAR CRY when set to its native resolution. There are minor latency issues, but I'm not a world class competitor.
Neverwinter Nights and LOTR:Battle for Middle Earth look great.
The 16ms refresh rate is good and I am enjoying the extra desk space for my CD's, paper's, etc. For LAN parties, old guys like me need to cut down on weight and this fits the bill
I bought this with the idea that I could always take it back. I can't see that happening.
