Pros: easy to master, works great, not too expensive, durable and handheld Cons: eats batteries if left on
Label Makers are one of those items that make organization an easy task in as office setting. In past offices where I have worked we have had numerous different types of label makers, all of which turned out to be beneficial in creating labels that ...
Pros: Cheap to buy, great results, labels are very durable Cons: Replacement tape is expensive, display is not WYSIWYG
My labeler I received this as a gift quite a while ago. I'm surprised to see it's still selling, and for a very good price. Then again, it is a labeler. I decided it's about time I wrote an epinion on it. A brief History For years, ...
Pros: Small enough. Multiple type styles. Cons: Needs a bigger display.
When I ran out of tape for my old (really old) Dymo labeler, I figured it was time to move into the 21st century. I bought the Brother PT-65 because I knew the name from a similar product I use at work, because of the price, and because the store I was...
Pros: colorful labels, easy to remove Cons: chews up batteries, not so easy to use
I bought this printer a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I do a lot of crafts and I enjoy being very organized. There’s also something fun about using a machine like this. Unfortunately, I quickly grew tired of it. For one, a computer keyboard ...
Pros: Does a fine job Cons: Difficult to separate tape from backing
We had the old plastic type of labeler for years. It seemed to serve the purpose. But, I had seen the results of this type of labeler, was impressed, and bought it. We are pleased with all aspects of it's operation EXCEPT it is really difficult to...
I've used a T65 for 4-5 years (on and off) at work and have had not trouble with it. It is a sturdy little device. The print styles are fairly plain but legible and crisp. My biggest complaint is that it cuts the tape straight across and does not nick the back side. This makes it difficult to peel away the backing with your finger nail.
The keyboard is not a full QWERTY keyboard, but makes up for this with a special "CODE" button that provides extra characters like a function button on a calculator. Nonetheless a few basic characters are missing: If I'm not mistaken, "forward slash", "back slash", "greater than" and "less than" charcters. This makes it hard to write "1/4" for example.
Pros: No downtime. Performs flawlessly. At $19.00, can't beat it. Cons: Tape waste. Requires alot of batteries but they last forever.
I use this labeler in my video store to label my DVD's. It has performed flawlessly. The only thing I notice is that there is a waste of tape at the beginning. I have also purchased a newer unit that does barcodes and the tape waste is even greater. They sell the machines for peanuts and charge alot for the tapes. These printers waste a bunch of tape at the beginning of the strip. I would use this unit more if it made barcodes. I have owned my pt-65 for going on 5 years and it has never had a problem. I bought the newer unit so that I can do barcodes.
How cute is this?!? -updated by jojomonkeygirl ,Feb 08 '04
Pros: Cute, functional and durable. Cons: Battery operated. I hate using batteries.
A friend gave me this adorable little label maker by Brother, a name I can remember my mother trusting since I was little. I didn't need to read the booklet to work it. It makes different size fonts and even symbols. The labels have very good adhesive and will stick to many things. The lettering doesn't scratch off the labels as with other makers that I've used. And did I mention it's CUTE?? It fits in my hands easy and is easy to use.
Update: I'm still using this little marvel at home and recently at work. I listed the battery use as a con but have found that the batteries and the tape cartridges last a remarkably long time. I've probably made 50 labels of various lengths and have yet to run one out or have to put in new batteries. I recently changed jobs and I am now a store manager of one of the top 3 video rental stores. My first day at work I found they use the Brother P-Touch for many jobs through-out the store because it's so easy to use and makes clear, easy to read labels.
