Serves Me Well

by randulak , Mar 17 '07
Pros: Reliable
Cons: Battery
At the almost 3 year mark of ownership of my Tungsten E I think it time to do a performance review. I was looking at the different Palm model reviews here and elsewhere and it was interesting to see how some (most) Palm's generate a love hate ...

A Fortunate Marriage of Lasting Value and Quality

by idyllcope , Feb 25 '07
Pros: Color, stylus silo (although placement not helpful for lefties), price, expandability, well-engineered design.
Cons: Volume of speakers slightly soft. Being unable to reset with stylus, but needing paper clip.
I acknowledge that I'm a late adapter to technology products. I was introduced to Palm efficiencies in an operations course in business school. However, I waited four years before owning my first PDA. When I adapted, I immediately noticed the ...

2 1/2 years later, and I still love my Tungsten E!

by gillises , Nov 04 '06
Pros: Price, versatility, clear color screen, SD expansion slot, audio function.
Cons: No wireless or bluetooth. Limited battery life with audio use.
If I were a poet, I would write a sonnet about my Tungsten E. I can't live without it. I bought it 2 1/2 years ago because it was cheap, about $199 at the time, before the Tungsten E2 came out. The longer I have it, the more uses I find for it! I ...

4th Palm product, many years Palm loyalist

by harmoniker , Aug 27 '06
Pros: WiFi, Bluetooth, Voice recorder, vertical-Horizontal screen
Cons: Crashes lots! Slowed down by the hard drive. Overpriced.
Last year I traded in my Palm Tungsten E for the LifeDrive, lured by the 4 Gigs of harddrive, WiFi, and Bluetooth and paid a hefty 500 for it. BIG MISTAKE!! I wish I had stayed with my Tungsten E. Here are all the things wrong with with the ...

Not bad for the price.

by jason222 , Jun 05 '06
Pros: Good screen, not too bad for what I needed it for.
Cons: Battery life so-so, internal speaker has a poor connection.
This PDA wasn't too bad for the price. What really makes it a 'good' or 'bad' PDA is what you'll be using it for. If you plan to play a lot of games or lots of movies, forget it since it has a small dynamic memory heap (2 mb of the 32 mb), and the ...

The Viable (Affordable) Pocket PC Replacement

by vemartin Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Mar 12 '06
Pros: Lightweight, color screen, Outlook conduit.
Cons: No USB cradle.
Through the years I have owned two (monochrome) Palm handhelds. Each had it strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately I gave them up and went with the (color) Pocket PC handheld with its color display and compatibility with the Windows XP OS. I found ...

great palm for a great price

by zalta4 , Feb 22 '06
Pros: Word, Excel, Powerpoint viewer Adobe Acrobat Reader Palm OS Color Display
Cons: How do you change the battery? Battery life did seems a bit short
If you need a camera on your device, get a Palm Zire 71. If you need Bluetooth connectivity and lots of raw power, get a Tungsten T3. The Zire 21, Tungsten C and Tungsten W are also good choices for those that need PDAs for various purposes. But ...

Sleek and sexy...

by vomithaus , Dec 30 '05
Pros: Metal body, Nice screen,
Cons: Screen whine, battery life?
I went nuts on ebay and ordered quite a few PDA's. The 1st one to arrive was a Tungsten E (used) that I won for about $70. I was very excited to sync it up and see how it fared against my old Zire 31. The Zire ran a 200mhz xscale, and the Tungsten ...

Solid value - This updated review includes how to fix this PDA's noise problem

by t_o_n_y , Oct 09 '05
Pros: Many powerful features for the price. Small, great screen, takes 1GB sd card, mp3 player
Cons: can't replace battery, slow data transfer, whines. no wireless, voice recorder, camera, or phone.
*** Second update *** The PDA continues to function fine, but there was recently a need to replace the battery. Fortunately, there are several web sites which give instructions on how to replace the battery. I'm quite tech savvy, but still found it a ...

Perfect Piece of Electronic

by smartartur , Jul 24 '05
Pros: color LCD, memory, applications, capability, size, and everything else
Cons: unreplacable battery, battery life
Knowing myself, i never looked into getting a palm pilot, until the program was able to buy us theese little handhelds, for personal and official use. Not knowing or perhaps knowing just a little about PDA's, i could not tell whether whatever we were ...

On a tight budget? This palm will satisfy your needs!

by compufreak800 , Jun 06 '05
Pros: Durable, functional, great screen, reasonable battery life
Cons: No cradle, only a 90 day warranty, not amazingly powerful
The Palm Tungsten E is the first handheld computing device I've owned. I lusted after the higher priced options, but settled with the Tungsten E as a balance of price and features. I purchased the Tungsten E for two purposes. One was to keep track of ...

I did the research, took a chance on the E - love it

by prayformojo , May 20 '05
Pros: Fast, expansion slot, mp3, graffit2,
Cons: battery
I received a Palm IIIc in 2000 as a company "perk" for personal use. They were going for about $350 at the time. I was one of the first in my circles to have a PDA and I thought I was pretty cool. It took me forever to learn the graffiti and I was not ...

Palm Pilot Tungsten E

by uhu69 , Mar 24 '05
Pros: Tough, beautiful screen, nice finish. MP3 capable.
Cons: Down button not working that well after one year.
First off, I wish to point out that I'm by no means a technophile. However, when something works very well and is reliable (much like my 15 year old Honda Civic), I have to give credit where credit is due. For all my needs the Tungsten E has been ...

Powerful Workhorse for Anyone..

by rpsjimj , Mar 21 '05
Pros: Great Price, Great PDA, up to 512mb SD cards, easy interface!!!
Cons: None what so ever!
When my Handspring Visor finally bit the dust after falling off my desk, I decided it was time to update my technology. I started reviewing the various PDA's that were on the market. From the reviews and the reasonable price point (under $200), I decided ...

Tungsten E, just remember they're disposable!

by smjester , Mar 14 '05
Pros: Low cost, easy to use
Cons: Palm can't fix them, terrible accessories
I needed a new PDA, and since I loved my old Palm III, I decided I would go with Palm (PalmOne) again. I bought the Tungsten E with the MP3 kit and hard “protective” case, and immediately loved it. The MP3 kit was way overpriced for what you ...
