Pros: Handy to have fax machine at home. Caller ID, Cons: No automatic redials locally.
As I mentioned, we had an $800 credit with Circuit City because of a TV that went bad. Hubby and I had always wanted a fax machine. After all, about once or twice a year we would like to able to send a fax, and the copy store that offered a fax service ...
Pros: What Fax's were sent or received were satisfactory. Answering worked. Range was OK. Design OK. Cons: Panasonic makes an inferior product, does not stand behind it.This model is Junk!
We purchased this model Panasonic KX-FPG381 12/03, purchase price $199.99, plus approximately $100 for an additional handset. Less than two years later 11/05 this Phone/Fax went beserk. We could not dial out, most of the time no dial tone, or we received inappropriate responses from the Phone company. Incoming calls were answered with an ungodly sound...no it wasn't a Fax signal. Calls to Panasonic service were of no help. Nearest service companies were a few hundred miles away. Calls to same informed us repairs would be so costly, at least $179 plus shipping, that we might as well buy a new one. I am so furious that a $200 machine would last less than two years. We are a retired couple the phone has not had excessive use and there have probably been no more than 15 faxes during the short life of the machine. Handsets for this model do not work with the new models. We will never again buy Panasonic.
Pros: I cant think of a single one Cons: Poor from conception. A phone "system" that was not supported
I too have a FPG381 less than two years old that I cannot answer or dial out. Caller id works and phone rings only do not answer because the call will be lost. If you read the help section I believe they were aware of this condition since it was manufactured. With so many other companies out there why take a chance. They do not stand behind their products.
