Panasonic CW-C80YU Thru-Wall/Window Air Conditioner

Pros: 11 EER. This is one of the least expensive high-EER units I've seen.
Cons: One "defect" is rubber plug in the bottom which must come out to prevent rust.

I bought mine in 2000 -- basic with no remote, LED, etc. just high EER (11.0). Right now, it still acts as a boost/standby A/C in a house with central, and sometimes keeps the whole house cool.

Mine has 3 fan speeds plus "economy" mode in which fan cycles with compressor.

Pros: Cools fast, quiet, easy to install.
Cons: none after 4 or so summers that I can think of.

I bought 3 of these in 2000 or 2001, used all the first year and only 2 after that because the 2 kept the whole house, up and down cool in the hottest of our New England summers. I am debating whether to sell the third one or just keep it if I ever need a replacement, which seems unlikely. A very quite and quick cooling unit.
