Pros: Excellent value, solid performance and features, DVD-Audio, MP3 and WMA, aspect control Cons: No coaxial audio out (an issue for some), slow disc change/load times

DVD-F85 is a 5-disc DVD changer with progressive scan, MP3 playback and 5.1-channel DVD-Audio playback. It is quite inexpensive compared to what DVD players with DVD-Audio playback used to cost ...
Pros: Does what I need with good fidelity and at a very reasonable price. Cons: No coax cable (a $50 extra). Non intuitive interface (well, at least to me).
I bought this DVD player after returning my Sony DVP-NC685V because it couldn't play an mp3 cd's tracks in random order. Go figure. Anyway, this one does. It plays DVD-A but not SACD like the Sony. It's also a CD-Changer (6 vs 5 disk I believe). ...
Pros: Easy to use, setup menu is great also. Cons: No coax audio output.
when I bought this unit I chose it because panasonic is touted by the lead reviewers here in epinion as great. Also if you do a search in google for DVD shootout, panasonic also rates very well. So what could be wrong... Actually nothing but there are som ...
Pros: Progressive scan, Dolby Digital, multi-disk, inexpensive Cons: Unable to play DVDs without skips/drop-outs
I hate to say it, but Stay away from this DVD Player! I initially bought this player because of several features: - Progressive Scan output - Dolby Digital and DTS audio - 5-disk changer - support for DVD-RAM and DVD-R disks - support ...
Pros: Superb features like Dialoge Enhancer, DVD-A, DVD-RAM, WMA, MP3, JPEG and High-MAT playblack. Cons: No coaxial digital output.
Poor tolerance to flaws in DVD movies during playback.
This product offers a great deal of features at an unbeatable price. This is why I bought it. Most players don't offer DVD-A, DVD-RAM, High-MAT, WMA and JPEG capability all in one, at least not for about $135. However, a DVD player must be a good DVD ...
Pros: 5 DVD, DVD-Audio/DD/DTS Decoder with 5.1 output, Toslink, MP3 Playback, Progressive Scan, CD-R/RW, DVD-R Cons: Remote has small buttons and must be line of site.
This is my 3rd try at a DVD player for MP3 playback.
Third time is a charm. The MP3 playback rules with great menus, supports directory structures and full song title display. MP3 output over Toslink is highly recommended. Some other units tried...
Pros: 5-discs. cheap. slim. light. Composite, S-Video, and component outputs. Optical Audio output. Plays nearly everything. Cons: Limited display... if you skip discs too quickly, you can lose your place. No Coax.
I bought on ebay and it has never failed me. I Highly recommend it. I was looking for a cheap DVD player that could still get everything out of my home theater system. Since DVD's are digital, there seems to be no difference between a $10 player and a $200 player... the ultra-high end has some bells and whistles that I'm not interested it...
This has a Component Video out.
This has an Optical Audio out.
It supposedly plays just about everything (though I haven't tested SACD's or audio DVD's)... but 99% of what I play is mainstream DVD's... and I've never had a problem.
(I have had regular hiccups with the wedding video dvd... but I don't know how that was authored.)
Nice DVD Player, but bad user interface. by highspeedmac ,May 25 '05
Pros: Progressive Scan, Multi-Disc, Good all round player. Cons: User Menus, a bit hard to understand and the manual
does not help in that.
I have had this player for quite some time.
I find it to be a very good DVD,Mp3 and Wma player.
It has never failed to work for me. Some DVD disc
I make, seem to be incompatible with it, but that is
no cause for alarm for me. It does it's job when it comes
to playing Movie DVDs.
The only one thing I can find wrong with it, is it's
user menus, quite hard to follow if you ask me. I still
can't figure out how to remove that annoying Display while
a movie dvd is playing. You know, the one that says how
many Mbits per second the movie is playing. The manual
only serves to confuse me more on that issue.
Pros: It's skinny. Cons: User interface too difficult. Basic features must be done via the remote.
We bought this player for our store to play music continuously. Our employees had a hard time getting it to play randomly, and continuously. I said to them it can't be that difficult. They said "you do it then".
Unbelievable! Random CD play must be done via the remote, but first you have to change modes. To many hoops to jump through just for music.
