Pros: Reliable signals. Cons: Annoying little beep when put in charger.
When people call, I really would like to know whose on the other end. I would like to know if I can say, "Hi ya!," or if I should sound a little more formal and reserved. This phone, with caller ID, solves this problem for me. This phone was ...

Pros: Good phone if you like being within 2 feet of base. Cons: Bad Range
CID never works
Battery life
Adds area code to CID #s
Horrible phone. I know it is a bit old now, but still, do not waste the 20-40 bucks on it. Ever since i got the phone (new) I've been having problems with it. The range is horrible, the caller id doesn't work unless the battery is 100% charged and you ...

Panasonic KX-TC1484B - Very Nice Cordless Phone
by shirlann ,Mar 24 '04
Pros: crystal clear reception, inexpensive, pager, caller ID, displays name and number Cons: beeps when placed in cradle, but not terribly bothersome.
We've had this little phone for several months now and it's been absolutely wonderful. Our more expensive cordless died and we needed one on short notice. I ran to WalMart and this one was only $30 ... I didn't expect much, but it was going to be a temporary fix, anyway. I've yet to replace this one because it sounds just as good as our old one which was almost $200 without an answering machine. I take this one with me outside, too, and the signal is just as strong as it is indoors. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone seeking a cordless with caller id.

a disapointment
by vinnipaul ,Jul 13 '04
Pros: model's shape size and display, battery life is good, and the sound is clear Cons: unrealiable caller id, and it's little amount of storage for phone numbers
I read the reviews of this phone, and decided that it fit the criteria I was looking for, so I found the cheapest price for the phone, and ordered it (from an online company of course). When it showed up, I was happy to see it, and charged it as the owners manual stated, then took it off the base, and carried it to the family room, which was about 40 feet from the base, and tried calling it.
This is where the disapointment started.
There was no caller ID on the screen, which I had paid for by the telephone company, only "incoming call" displayed on the screen.
The caller ID has at times worked, only not regularly, which is a surprise from panasonic, because that is why I decided to go with this manufacter, not a cheaper company like V-tech or it's like.
So my confidence is damaged in panasonic, but not enough to diswade me from trying another model from them. I have purchased another phone, the KX-TG5100M, so I will see again.
