Pros: None - the phone died after six months of operation Cons: Lack of quality - lack of customer support.
UPDATED ON MARCH 12, 2004 My panasonic phone worked great - for six months. After six months - for no known reason - every light on the base started blinking and the phone no longer works. The operation manual does not cover this problem and ...
Pros: 1)Audio caller i.d. tells you the name.
2)Speakerphone inside headset
Cons: 1)Audio I.D. No Numbers.
2)Visual Caller I.D. poor and only 30 entries.
Since I get many annoying calls I was looking for a telephone that could talk to me and tell me who is calling before I pick up. I was tired of groping and searching for the small caller id attachment and most of the time I would end up disconnecting ...
Great Except for battery life by cmusgrove ,Aug 01 '04
Pros: Rich features Cons: Short battery life.
This is a great phone for all the reasons other reviewers have listed. However, if you plan on using it for a high volume home office phone, DON'T. The battery life for the hand set is pretty pitiful. Also, the battery will develop a 'life' if you continually put the handset back on the base after use. If I have a conversation longer than 5 or 10 minutes I have to put the caller on hold and return the set to the base using the speaker phone in order to continue. I replaced the hard to find battery for $20 in hopes that I could avoid the battery life issue if I started fresh and kept the set off the base until the battery ran down. No such luck. Same problem. Its a real shame since this is such a cool phone otherwise.
Excellent Value with Great Features by lancetb ,Mar 09 '04
Pros: Two speakerphones for the price of one, excellent quality, great features Cons: None
Normally, I would not be motivated to praise a telephone; however, I really like the Panasonic KX-TG2238 cordless speakerphone. Although low-priced, it performs wonderfully.
In addition to having a dual speakerphone on the base unit, the KX-TG2238 has a dual speakerphone on its handset. This means you have two speakerphones for the price of one and both have excellent reception.
Other features not typical of inexpensive cordless phones are: intercom; visual and talking Caller ID; and, one-touch voice mail check. Additionally, Redial, Flash, Hold, and Volume buttons are well-placed and easily noticeable.
The layout of the KX-TG2238 is stylishly well thought-out and I particularly like the fact that there is not an LED that flashes when you have received incoming calls from people who have not left voice mail messages. The only flashing light is one that notifies you of voice mail that has not been checked.
In a nutshell, I purchased this phone at www.officedepot.com for $89.95 ($69.96 after messing with a $20 rebate) and am pleased enough to spend my time writing this review. I highly recommend this phone.
