Pros: Battery life is long, phone book is great. Cons: See the review.
When my husband and I separated last year the only good thing that came from it was the Panasonic KX- TG2248S Cordless Phone . Of course, to get the phone I had to take him back, {just kidding}, after his Mid Life Crisis. This was one of the ...

Pros: Design, Pager, Rugged Cons: Interfearance, large base, limited battery life.
Panasonics cordless phones have always been at the top of the (affordable) list for home phones. 2.4 GHz means a good talking range. And 10 channels typically gets any other calls off the line... or does it. I've owned this phone for about 3 years and ...

Lots of Features.... Low Volume
by od44 ,Sep 07 '03
Pros: Handset speakerphone, Talking caller ID Cons: Low volume, irritating missed call meter
Bought this phone a couple weeks ago.The phone has some nice features like speakerphone in the handset and talking caller ID. The downswing is the volume on the phone is lower than it should be. Even at the highest volume it is not very loud. Add a headset to the phone and people start telling you they can't hear you very well at all. I took the phone back and got another one and the same situation so they are made that way. The missed call id on the phone is a bit irritating as well. The missed call note won't go away until you actually delete the calls it recorded. Panasonic has better sounding phones, like the KX-TG2583B. Volume on the 2583 is great, with a headset too. We have that phone as well.

Panasonic cordless phone model number KX-TG2248S
by susan1162 ,Oct 10 '03
Pros: Basic arrangement and features nice. Has a pleasant ring. Cons: The talking caller ID announcement is useless.
I purchased this phone 2 weeks ago. The main reason for buying this phone was the talking caller ID. I was disappointed with this aspect of it. The caller is not announced until after 2 complete rings. Rather than simply announcing the caller's name or number, it's introduced with a very long "Call From...." phrase then a name pronounced with poor voice quality. By the time the actual name's completely announced you've spend what would be 3 1/2 regular rings just waiting. That kind of defeats the purpose of having the name announced. The prior Nortel phone I had announced the number or an "Unknown Caller" (solicitors) phrase clearly after the first 1/2 ring (about 2 seconds). For regular callers, I could record their name so my voice would actually announce their name after the first 1/2 ring.
On a positive note, the layout of the buttons is friendly. I found the volume and clarity good. Although not great, the volume and clarity were better than the phone I was replacing.

Great phone for the money.
by goldblm ,Nov 23 '03
Pros: Clear Sound, Cheap Price, Intercom, Speaker Phone, Talking Caller Id
Cons: Voice Enhancer feature makes the sound worse. Silver in color...
I would definitely recommend this phone. The talking caller id is a great feature. As expected the voice on the caller id sounds computerized and is somewhat unclear. However, it is still very useful and almost always understandable. Messages can be checked from the handset. The speaker phone feature on the handset is useful for long hold times. It also has Caller IQ which will add numbers to it's phone book by downloading data from Outlook via the Internet. This is useless for me since it requires either a $2.00 per month fee or joining their long distance program.
