Pros: Excellent optics, maximum aperture, optical zoom and image stabilization, features, performance Cons: Could be cheaper, large camera body and lens, no hot shoe
Perhaps the best kept secret, Panasonic FZ digital cameras are not something people consider when shopping for a digital camera. People mostly shop for well-known names like Canon, Olympus, Nikon, Sony. Not considering Panasonic FZ camera in general and ...
I am shocked at the poor quality of the Lumix digital camera I purchased barely three months ago (late Feb. '05). The rubber grip for the user's thumb is falling out! But even more shocking was to find that Panasonic's one year "warranty" only ...
Pros: Price, great picture quality, fast, user friendly Cons: None
I did heavy research for this camera. I wanted a camera that was fast enough to take candid shots of my dogs and action pictures of dogs doing agility but still be user friendly for a novice for under $500. I also wanted the anti shake function. I ...
Pros: Long fast stabilized lens, fast focus, strong flash, 2"LCD Cons: Extremly poor low light framing ability, no hot shoe
I have had the FZ15 for about 1 week now. I have probably shot close to 1,000 pictures just to get familiar with the camera. In general, I would say that I am extremely happy with the camera, and the long fast lens with image stabilization is ...
Pros: Stabilized 12x zoom lens, f2.8 max telephoto aperture, full manual mode, good battery life, accessories. Cons: Visible noise at high ISO's, lens cap is not tethered to carrying strap.
Every model in Panasonic's Lumix line of long shot cameras has received top billing from leading reviewers. With little effort these cameras will transform your photographic experience by enabling you to get close to subjects quite far away. Thanks to ...
The Lens makes the Camera by basschamp ,Dec 08 '04
Pros: Great Leica lens. 12X OPTCAL!! Cons: Poor connection into camera with USB plug.
I have had experience with several digital cameras. This camera is fantastic. The Leica lens is its best feature. A true 12X optical zoom makes this camera. Very user friendly and easy to use. Great battery life. The panorama software make pan shots easy and are lots of fun. The plug going into the camera on the USB cord is too small, making it difficult to tell which way to turn it when plugging into camera. I colored one side to make it easier to insert and not damage the cord or port. I think 4 megapixels are all most anyone needs for any normal photography. Above 4 and you are just using up memory needlessly.
THE BEST OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!! THANX PANASONIC by sjpierson ,Oct 23 '04
Pros: fast, quality phenominal, many options Cons: HATE the lens cap
Wow, this is the BEST dig camera out there!! I LOVE it. The quality is phenominal and the speed is out of this world. I compared alot of cameras before deciding and this is it!
Great Bargain!!! Awesome Camera even for Amateurs! by dbacksn7 ,Feb 21 '06
Pros: HIGH POWER ZOOM, LIGHTWEIGHT, AND AFFORDABLE. Cons: SMALL MEMORY CARD SUPPLIED AND NO LANYARD ON LENS CAP..
I HAVE HAD THIS CAMERA FOR ONLY A WEEK, BUT I REALLY LOVE THIS CAMERA..I CONSIDERED BUYING THE FZ4, BUT THE I AM GLAD I WENT WITH THE NEWER MODEL. I USE THE CAMERA FOR TAKING PHOTOS AROUND THE HOUSE AND ALSO FOR WORK. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, BUT I FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE USING THIS CAMERA. THE CLARITY OF THE PHOTOS EVEN ON THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD PICTURE QUALITY SETTINGS ARE AMAZING! MY ONLY COMPLAINTS FOR THIS CAMERA IS THE MEMORY CARD SUPPLIED IS 8MB WHICH ONLY KEPT 4 PHOTOS....I PURCHASED A 512MB CARD AND IT HOLDS 170 PHOTOS AND THE LENS CAP IS NOT SECURED WITH A LANYARD. I BOUGHT THIS CAMERA FROM BUTTERFLY PHOTO AND PAID $298.00 NO TAX OR SHIPPING. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST THIS CAMERA FOR ANYONE WANTING A GOOD QUALITY CAMERA.
Head of the class and best buy by emphap ,Feb 18 '05
Pros: Great Price, superb optics, impressive 12x optical zoom, all needed features. Cons: none yet encountered.
I, initially, did not think to look at a Panasonic digital camera. As I did my homework and started to use the web research resources, the Panasonic kept coming up as the camera to compare others to. When all is said and done, this is the best buy and best camera. It is a true prosumer camera, feature rich with superb optics. It is easy to use, feels good, and has a reassuring thunk when you take a picture, even if it is only a recording of an SLR that is heard when you snap the photo. The lag between shutter push and picture taking is negligible (unlike on my wife's Nikon) and the images are of high quality. This is a camera worth more than it costs and can be recommended without hesitation.
Fantastic Camera. Fast, 12X zoom. Great lens by myrtlematt ,Jan 28 '05
Pros: Leica lens is perfect. Fast shot to shot and continues. Big zoom. Pictures. Cons: Shutter button is awkward. Lens cap. LCD should be recessed.
I traded in my Pentax ZX10 slr and Olympus C4000 digital for this. It is, by far, the best slr type digital on the market. I saved $100 by getting the FZ15 vs the FZ20 as I did not need the hotshoe, or voice recording. 4 vs 5 MP is still debateable as I don't see the difference - not $100 worth. The same camera otherwise.
Panasonic customer service in Canada pertaining to the Lumix FZ15 by marygardener ,Mar 05 '05
Pros: Love the ability to adjust flash levels and exposure levels quickly. Cons: That "Lens Cap!"
I totally love this camera ( except for that lens cap..where did I put it?)
I wanted to mention the great customer service I received from Panasonic. I bought an older model Panasonic camera that packed it in just past the expirey date. Panasonic Canada reimbursed me 30% on my purchase of the LumixFZ15 to help compensate for my loss. I purchased it on one of the advertised sites on epinions which is an American company and I received quite a terse letter from Peter Malton at customer service Canada about buying from an American company, although nothing was mentioned about buying strictly Canadian at the time of the agreement. However, I did in fact get my compensation and for that I'm grateful and wanted to pass along my recomendation.
