Great picture and sound, terrible life span of lamp!!! I want my money back and a new TV. Don't buy this TV if you are thinking about it. My 2nd lamp blew out after only 3 months of use!!!!! I am VERY angry.

Keep in mind when reading this, I'm a HUGE Panasonic TV fan. I had a 19" and had a 32" before buying this unit and had only great things to say about Panasonic TV's. Unfortunately, I bought the PT-50LC14 (brand new in box) and it didn't last three months (screen would only display pink and blue vertical lines). Panasonic's customer service was brutal to get a hold of (over 50 min. wait time) and they said I needed to replace the lamp but I took it out and it looks fine to me. Now I need to wait for a local tech to come out and try to fix it. I'd rather try to convince Circuit City or Panasonic to take it back..oh, well..I guess loyalty only gets you so far these days..

Not anymore..bought this set and within three months the video went..the lamp wasn't the problem, the part needed to fix it is on backorder with panasonic so obviously their having LOTS of problems with this set. Customer service is terrible (waited over an hour each time I called) and when all is said and done, I'll have to wait at least a month for the set to be "fixed"..how long it'll last after that is anyone's guess. Panasonic has basically told me tough luck! Buyer Beware!! Do NOT buy this set!!!

I was wary of this model due to all of the reported lamp problems. However, I've had it for almost a year with no problems at all. We love the features, the picture is excellent for an LCD projection TV, lots of input options, two tuner picture in picture feature on this set is great. The remote is intuitive and easy to use. I have to admit that I sort of hold my breath each time I turn it on fearing some sort of lamp failure, but so far, knock on wood, it's done well.

Pros: Picture was acceptable when it wasn't green

First got it in 2005 and had it 2 weeks and it blew up.Sears deliveres another one and the bulb blew out just out of warranty.Got a replacement bulb and now the screen is turning green.(slowly). Now its all green and this is not the only tv it's doing it to. Check different search engines and you'll see I'm not the only one. Spending this kind of money for a tv to last a short amount of time then needing service is unacceptable to the consumers. No one stands behind their products anymore with a true warranty!!! How much will it cost to repair!!!

Panasonic's PT-50LC14 is a 50-inch LCD TV that is as comfortable displaying computer images as it is playing DVD, TV programs, or video games. The profile is a relatively shallow 15 inches. This set may be paired (recommended) with an optional silver stand that complements its styling, with a clear oval shelf for components.

I continually tell myself that this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I am still amazed that this set has held up technology-wise for over 2 years. It just missed the cutoff for the HDMI input by a couple of months--so that is one minus and the set should really be professionally calibrated in order to really take advantage of the black level settings.

I have owned the TV for exactly 3 months to the day - the lamp just BLEW out last night. Literally blew out - I heard a pop and the picture disappeared.

I watch apprx 2 hours of TV a day @ 90 days, that's around 180 hours.

Panasonic clearly states that it is estimated that the lamp lasts 10,000 hours. I have never heard of anyone's bulb lasting that long. Their ext warranty does not cover lamps to boot - how convenient for them.

Great picture, great price (initially) - I'm seriously disappointed that Panasonic hasn't stepped up and taken care of their customers with this issue. Do some searches, the previous model has even more serious lamp issues.

I'll make this short. Price and picture quality make this an excellent buy....however there are serious engineering issues with the bulb. I saw the reviews on Epinions and still purchased the unit. Less the 3 months later the bulb blew. When I searched the web on the bulb number I hit many websites discussing the issues with the bulb. There is actually one site where over 2000 people have filled out a petition to Panasonic lamenting their issues. Search the web on the bulb number for the unit and you will find many issues. Don't know how bulb life is on other projection TV's but this one is certainly an issue.

Pros: Life like picture, easy to operate remote control, love the split screen feature.

Without a doubt, ABSOLUTELY THE BEST, BRIGHTEST AND CLEAREST picture I have ever seen when you watch shows in High Definition broadcast. Watching football games is like being there. I am so glad I went with LCD as opposed to Plasma since plasma loses it's luster after a couple of years. Panasonic's reputation is another reason I chose this set. The picture in picture feature slices the screen in half as opposed to shrinking the second picture into a corner. Once you watch television this way, you will not settle for less.

I formally was a Mitsubishi fan, still am, but this Panasonic just seemed to off more.
I have had horrible experiences with Sony.

I can now safely say that I will never buy Panasonic again. I have had nothing but problems with phones and phone/faxes in the past. I thought that they built good TVs.....wrong. To add insult to injury, Panasonic's service is even worse.

Bulb blew after 3 months of use. It blew a month ago and I am still trying to get a replacement on warranty. Service is tough to get a hold of (e.g., 35 minutes hold time).

Cons: VIEWING ANGLE

I'VE HAD THIS TV ALMOST TWO YEARS (JUST A FEW MONTHS LESS) AND HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE PROBLEM WITH IT. OTHERS' BULBS HAVE BURNED OUT REPEATEDLY BUT MINE HASN'T EVEN DIMMED.

Pros: Beautiful unit, compact; sharp and colorful picture.
Cons: Bulb unit blows out after 10% of manufacturer's estimate of bulb lifetime.

I bought this set almost a year ago; within six months, the bulb blew out. It was replaced under warranty, having worked just over 1200 hours. four months later, ten months into ownership, the new bulb blew out also, having lasted about as long as the first. If this is a pattern, within two months of the expiration of the warranty I will have to buy a bulb for the thing. Of course, no extended warranty covers bulbs, and it's looking like this is going to be a major and catastrophic expense. Buyer beware!
