Great TV, 2002 model
by jimhandy ,Jan 20 '04
Pros: Sharpness, picture quality, vibrant colors, sound, price Cons: About 30 minute set-up with manual convergence, remote keys are a little small.
I picked this TV up on a boxing day sale. After looking at RCA, Phillips, Hitachi, and Sony's all day, I needed something a little better than the first three brands and a lot cheaper than the Sony. This tv is great! The colors are vibrant, yet do not bleed through. It is HDTV ready for when I upgrade to a progressive scan DVD player, although it has improved picture quality compared to my 10 year old 27" sony trinitron (DVD source, S-Video cables used). Has a few preset viewing modes which automatically adjust contrast, brightness, color, etc., nice for watching movies in cinema mode, then switch modes to vivid to enjoy sports. Lots of inputs and 1 output with this TV. The sound is excellent for a TV, a large speaker cabinet provides ample bass, but a surround sound system is recommended. This tv does not turn dark black as some other projection tv's do at bad viewing angles, but you still should be about 8' back from the tv for best viewing.
Great TV, paid roughly $1799 CDN delivered

GREAT HDTV VALUE! FROM CIRCUIT CITY EMPLOYEE AND OWNER OF TV
by whoapony ,Jul 27 '04
Pros: NICE PICTURE! LOTS OF INPUTS! NOT WIDE SCREEN FOR WATCHING CABLE! EASY TO USE! DURABLE! Cons: BUTTONS ON FRONT FOR SMALL CHILDREN! NOT WIDE SCREEN FOR DVDS!
I WORKED AT CIRCUIT CITY FOR ABOUT A YEAR SELLING TV'S, THE WHOLE TIME I PLANNED WHICH TV I WOULD GET. I DECIDED ON THIS ONE BECAUSE FOR THE PRICE IT WAS THE BEST IN MY OPINION. I RECOMMENDED IT TO MANY CUSTOMERS. THE SONY'S WERE NICE, BUT IT WAS LIKE YOU WERE PAYING FOR BRAND NAME. I STILL OWN THIS TV ABOUT 3 YEARS LATER. IT HAS GIVEN ME ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS. I ALSO HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN THAT HAVE TRIED TO ABUSE IT BY PUSHING ON THE SCREEN HITTING IT AND PUSHING THE POWER, CHANNEL AND VOLUME BUTTONS ON THE FRONT MANY TIMES. IT STILL HAS A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE, WONDERFUL WHEN PLAYING DVDS ACCOMPANIED BY A PROGRESSIVE SCAN DVD PLAYER AND COMPONENT CABLES. THE TV HAS MORE INPUTS THAN YOU COULD POSSIBLY NEED. I CURRENTLY HAVE A VCR, DVD, RECEIVER, CABLE BOX AND PLAY STATION ALL HOOKED UP TO IT. ANYWAYS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PICK THIS TV UP FOR LESS THAN MANY OTHER BRAND NAMES, BUT STILL ENJOY A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE.
