Pros: Very close shave for an electric shaver, great "sonic" cleaning system Cons: Average battery life
The shaving performance of the Panasonic ES8095NC is great for an electric shaver. I've used electrics for over 20 years, and have tried most brands (Philips/Norelco, Braun, Remington) and this shaver is better in every way. Shaving is very close, ...

Pros: Reliable, No irritation compared to other electrics Cons: Not quite as close a shave as conventional razors
I am a regular non-powered razor kind of guy, as I used to and still use them for the closests of shaves. That being said I purchased the Panasonic Pivot Action Pro Curve about a year ago, and like it a lot. It generally does the job well, and provides a ...

Nice, smooth face
by burbynella ,May 13 '05
Pros: Nice, even, smooth shave
Parts last long time-rechargeable Cons: The tiniest bit noisy
I read other reviews for electric shavers on the internet and from what I read, this one sounded like it gets the closest shave. My boyfriend hasn't tested the others, but we love this one! He shaves more than ever now and his face is still nice and smooth, even though he's not using a razor. I got it for him for Christmas of 2003 and it's still working great with no parts needing to be replaced! I highly recommend this shaver. It's somewhat noisy, but definitely tolerable for what you and your partner get from it.

Customer service blows!
by bhause ,Jul 22 '05
Pros: Great close shave wet or dry. Cons: Lousy customer service. Never buy again.
Good Lord, they have the worst customer service ever. After a few months mine broke so I sent it back and after 2 months (yes, 2 months) they returned it to me still broken. The shaver is great, but I doubt I'll ever buy anything panasonic ever again. Does anyone else know of an equal as far as the shave, but from a different company? Let me know.

Terrible product
by kongo44 ,Jan 26 '07
Pros: Decent shave (when it works) Cons: Horrible reliability
Have used this product for 16 months. Have now replaced the battery 3 times, the LED that shows how much time is left before charging does not work anymore (just a blank), and now it has stopped working completely (buzz for a second then shuts off).( For $300.00 that I paid for this thing it should have lasted much longer, my Braun lasted me 7 years. I will never buy a panasonic product again....

Dead in 9 Months - Back to Razor
by migvieira2002 ,Dec 05 '06
Pros: Close shave when it works; wet shave Cons: Horrible tech support, cheap parts--didn't last long
My wife bought me one for Christmas in 2005. It worked well for about 9 months--close shave, reliable, etc. Then it started "dying" for no reason. On some days it would just stop working--a muffled noise, no movement. The next day it would work like new again. I called the tech support toll-free number and, after spending a few minutes describing my problem, I was given another toll-free number for a company in New York. I called that company and the recorded voice told me that if I needed service, I'd have to call the office directly--at my expense. Which I did. After about 9 minutes "on hold" and paying for the call, I hung up. Bad tech support. The shaver worked, day in day out, for a couple more months and finally died completely. The battery heats up every time I try to recharge. The button won't do anything. I'm back to using razors. I'll never buy Panasonic products again--I'm now afraid of bad tech support.

My ES8095 just died, looking for new razor
by jev123456 ,Nov 22 '05
Pros: wet shave, close shave, Cons: expensive parts, short warranty,
I am a 50 yr old electric shaver only male, as I have had sensitive skin all my life. I don't like the norelco shavers as they don't cut close. I tried a braun years ago, and switched to panasonic 10 yrs ago. I upgraded to the es8095 and found it to cut less close than my old panasonic model, and had to buy replacement "Blades" every three months.. so at $25 per quarter it added up to $100 per year maintenance. In addition, I found shaving "wet" to be much more effective. I now rarely shave dry... as I use conditioned shampoo as my lubricant in the shower. Anyway, I am back on the market, looking at new razors as my ES8095 died yesterday after less than 2 years of ownership. I am skittish on buying another panasonic because of the the warranty, but do like their wet shave ability.

Close cutting electric shaver
by dht1986 ,Jun 10 '05
Pros: Extremely close shave in good areas of the face
Never yanks hairs (very fast head) Cons: Sometimes slow shaves
Ineffective around neck
Battery lasts for only 6-7 shaves
I bought this shaver after using a low end Norelco for three years. I can't believe I went with the Norelco for as long as I did! This shaver works very effectively with lotion. The first step in the adjustment process is getting comfortable with this electric device getting wet. You wet your face with warm water, lather up some shaving gel, then get to work. Some parts of the face get taken care of very quickly, others take more work. The front parts of the face can be cleaned up in two passes, but you have to work on the lower chin / neck area. For the parts that work well, this shaver gets REALLY close. You run your fingers over the finished parts of your face, and its smooth as can be. The neck area gets trimmed, but not closely shaved. If its a really important day for me, I usually clean up the neck area a bit with a Bic razor afterwards. All in all though, this shaver does an excellent job compared to others I have used.

Many Shaves and Two Years later
by bee_boi ,Jun 15 '05
Pros: wet/dry, turbo clean mode, long battery life Cons: should have a longer life then 2 years!!!
Okay, I read the reviews when this shaver first came out and based on them I purchased this shaver.
Unfortunately it started making this weird sound loud sound and the blades seemed to be binding. I don't know if water got in it (I opened it up and it seemed fine). The problem is getting worse, and now it stops a few seconds later after making the sound.
I'm VERY disappointed that it stopped functioning almost 2 years to the date. I don't know if this is just bad luck (my friend bought a braun self cleaning around the same time frame and his stopped working too!)
I really like the fact you can shave in the shower as it is easier on the skin and the warm water opens the pores.
It seemed to work well on the cheeks, but on my neck it didn't shave very good. I had to do a dual combo (mach 3 and the electric).
Initial battery life is good, and I like the turbo cleaning mode.

A Good Electric Shaver
by danceeagle ,Oct 11 '06
Pros: Good shaver. Less harsh and less likely to cut than a normal razor. Cons: Not as close, fast or inexpensive as a good quality Gillette razor.
I've always used a straight Gillette razor. So I guess I'm spoiled. Electric razor like this Panasonic I have is NOT as close, Not as Fast and even Not as inexpensive. Nonetheless it is a good shaver and will, if you give it the time, give you a good shave in the shower although will not get the difficult areas like under your nose or give your side burns as straight a cut as a normal razor would. In addition the unit you put the Panasonic in to clean it after a shave is VERY noisy (for almost 3 hours) and requires you to replace the filter ever month of use which makes it as expensive to operate as a quality Gillette razor. The Panasonic appears to be a little less harsh on your face than a normal razor so I use it about half the time. It does take about 3 times as long to shave compared to a normal razor as you have to go over and over the same areas. You are less likely to cut your face with this electric although if you press hard enough you can!
