Great sound! Awesome equalizer and 5 CD changer that functions quickly and quietly are the bonuses with this system. I hate the noisy slow turntables on other 3-5 CD stereo systems. This one is streamlined and modern looking.

Cons: CD Changer broke - not fixable without complete replacement

CD changer mechanism broke with CD changer slots stuck in the open position. Out of warranty now and costs too much to get it fixed. System sounds good but this CD changer issue makes this product bad. Also appears I am not the only one with this issue for this product. Stay away from it.

Was looking for a little system for my office and this one is great. The sound is very good for a little system and the price. Takes up very little room, just really like it! I have had no problem with the cd player/changer or the radio. Will probably never use the tape...

I bought a precursor of this stereo (SA-PM18) two years ago. Same 5 CD, radio, tape deck deal. It looks pretty and sounds nice enough - when it works. I didn't use it very often, but the CD changer mechanics locked up after less than a year. Took it to the Panasonic repair shop, as still under warranty - I live in a city, not in a remote area, but the next shop was miles away (the only shop in for a huge area). It took them more than 2 months to replace the CD changer unit, apparently there had been a fault with this particular model and new units were being sent from Panasonic. I eventually got the stereo back, and have used it very little over the past 11 months - well, it totally locked up again. I give up, no point in waiting for a repair this time. Cut my fingers trying to extricate my CDs from it. Stay well away from this piece of junk.

I have had this unit for 2+ years and everyone who listens to it appreciates its pleasant sound, compact size, and convenience. It is helping me to endure the wait until I can afford the home system of my dreams. For the money you cannot beat this amazing little system. I have only minor complaints...I wish the clock stayed on when the power is off and silly preset EQ settings always annoy me, sometimes I wish I could attenuate (turn down) the bass...

I bought this unit because I wanted a system that had the following:
Quality Sound,Looks Good,5 cd changer w/quiet changing mechanism,Tape Deck,Ability to change all other discs while one is playing and Small size.

I got all of that with the Panasonic. This unit really made me satisfied because the sound is distinctively clear. The "bi-amp" feature is wonderful.

I debated about getting the Panasonic PM29 but since there was such a large price difference. $199 vs. $90. I bought mine on ebay for $90 shipped,which was right in my budget. I am highly pleased with the purchase.
