Pros: none Cons: Bad Bad LCD Screens stay away from this unit
Beware of panasonic's laptops as they do not warranty the LCD Screen at all and this is the most common failure on this unit with a cost of over $1,000 to repair as Panasonic does not warranty it at all
Pros: Durability, reliability, flexibility Cons: needs a rear headphone port to accept external speakers
As a mobile tool business owner, I have found the Panasonic CF-50 to be extremely reliable. My laptop goes wherever I do every day. I operate a Snap-On tool franchise and some of the roads I travel are not kind to computers. It bounce around all day long on the truck and then goes into the house or the hotel with me at night. It handles temperature changes without problem, often going from 60 to below freezing, then back to room temp without a glitch. The battery on the CF-50 is more reliable than the ones on the CF-48 or -47, with a much longer off-power run time. The drives are nearly bulletproof. I have a dvd/cd/cdrw drive and a 3 1/4 floppy, both work flawlessly. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone on the go.
