Pros: Great battery life; small, compact size; wonderful picture quality; ease of use. Cons: Both nits: no sound with video recording; small font for screen menus.
What Made Me Decide To Get One I own a FujiFilm S5100 4-megapixel digital camera. It's a great camera, but its rather chunky size makes it hard to slip in a pocket for point-and-shoot convenience. I decided that with the price of ...
Pros: 2AA batteries - SD/MMC - low noise and sharp pictures - fast! Cons: No microphone.
I happened to buy this camera for a student association and I got this camera for a few days. I am truly happy with the quality of this product. The pictures it takes are the sharpest I've seen from a 3 Mpixel camera of ANY MAKE. Trust me, I tried ...
Pros: Very handy size shape and weight. Requires only 2 AA batteries. Cons: No sports program. Iffy battery cover. No video out to TV.
I've had it for less than a week and already I am impressed. Its small size and weight is very handy for totting around in a small belt pouch(non-proprietory)around everywhere for that Kodak moment. I like its shape, no sharp edges which cut, its grip is ...
Pros: Designed for beginners and experts alike. Superb lens, macro mode, and final picture quality. Cons: No sound in movie mode (normal for 3MP models but still disappointing) and no case.
So, what does almost everyone REALLY want to do when they get their new camera??? Ignore the manual and start taking pictures, right?! Well, Pentax wisely separated the camera's features into essentially two areas - basic and advanced modes. The camera ...
Pros: shutter speed, fast load time, decent flash brightness. Built in lens protector. Uses AA. Cons: Rather small, Cases feels cheap.
After Quite a considerable amount of research on digital cameras. I had narrowed my choices down to the Canon Powershot a85, the Olympus d580, Pentax Optio30, and the Kodak dx7430. Now first I wanted a camera that used regular alkaline batteries or at ...
Pros: great pictures, easy to use, clear LCD screen Cons: Slightly dark appearance to pictures( can be fixed)
I purchased this camera on sale, in fact it was the display model, but it still came with the same warranty, so i decided to give it a try. I will say that this was my first digital camera purchase, although I have used many friends and family digital ...
I personally do not like this camera. My girlfriend has it and the quality of the pictures are good, but the overall design, menus and battery life are not that great. Let me begin with the design, or better yet; the lack of it. This is an ugly ...
Pros: Small camera, large LCD screen, excellent image quality, good video settings, easy to use Cons: Only color is a champagne color
After spending hours (yes, hours) researching online for the best possible camera at the best possible price. The Pentax Optio 30 Digital Camera is chalk full of good stuff. It has incredible picture quality. It's a standard point and shoot ...
What a great little camera this is. I have had it for about 6 months now and I am very satisfied with it. The pictures are very impressive and super sharp. I also had a HP 3.3 mp camera and put it to the test against the pentax but there is a clear winner, the pentax. Seriously this camera takes as good a photo as a good 35mm film camera. Its so small it can easily fit into your pocket. Menu takes a little time to understand everything, but if you just take regular pictures it works great. Its nice that it only takes 2 aa batteries, since most nimh aa batteries and charger combos come with 4 so you always have spares ready to go. Oh by the way, as with most digital cameras this one will eat alkaline batteries quickly. But nimh batteries last 3 times as long for me, even using the flash half the time. I liked the camera so much I bought one for my father for his birthday and one for my mother for mothers day. Its that good.
still good choice for 3 megapixels by silpol ,Jul 06 '05
Pros: reliable; simple; good default colours; target'n'shoot is almost ideal Cons: don't forget switch_off power after image transfer to PC; sometimes colors problematic in artificial light.
Bought it because I needed at time digital camera, and with reliability and simplicity as main factors to decide. Since that I don't need digicam anymore, hopefully for next several years - I am almost completely satisfied, and it is excellent price-to-performance-and-features ratio!
Bottom line - if you're not mad about megapixels then it is perfect choice.
Pros: Versatility, modern features - direct to printer, USB to computer. Cons: Light weight and a bit of a flimsy plastic feel, but thats fine.
For a first not-a-toy digital, go for it. Point and shoot if that is all you want. However, full of features including many ways to customise away from point and shoot so good for many serious applications if you want to fiddle. The set up features are menu driven and not hard to use, so I disagree with last reviewer.
Pros: Easy to use, excellent photo quality, Video function, compact, many options. Cons: Eats battaries especially using flash.
I bought this camera one year ago and has served me very well. I bought this camera because it had both digital and optical zoom, was cheap and price, has a decent number of megapixals and because Pentax is a good company for camera's. Camera also features a video recording option. Is great to have but would make this camera perfect if you could take video WITH audio as well.
This camera worked good for a month and a half by austxjim ,Jul 22 '04
Pros: Clarity of pics and ease of use Cons: The camera only lasted 1 1/2 months before it broke down
I bought an Pentax Optio 30 a month and a half ago to use for a family reunion. Played around with it ahead of time to get used to it. Halfway through our reunion(3 days) the screen went out of focus.I tried everything. New batteries, memory card, troubleshooting methods,etc... Nothing worked. You could view the pics i took before it happened and they looked good. But anything after that was blurry. I was pretty upset that the camera went out when it did. The rest of the time everyone else was taking pictures but, i couldn't because my camera wasn't focusing. I got back from the trip and exchanged the Pentax Optio 30 for a Kodak CX6330. I like this new camera even better. Good Luck with your camera purchase.
I am very happy with this purchase by rogueswan ,May 17 '04
Pros: ease of use, price and features Cons: durabililty, no problems but does not feel solid.
This is my first digital camera purchase. There are a lot of 3mp, 3x zoom cameras out there and it took me a long time to decide which model I wanted. What set this camera apart for me was the price, choice of autofocus modes (spot and 5 point) and metering options (multi-segment, spot and centre weighted). These choices along with numerous exposure program choices, which include: portrait, night, night-portrait, landscape, party, food, surf & snow and pet (??), should cover just about any situation I would come across. There is even /-2 stop exposure compensation. I could not find another camera with these features for this price.
I have made a few enlargements up to 8" x 10" and I am very happy with the results. I have displayed them proudly around my home.
I must mention the ease of use. My wife, who is camera illiterate, has been able to take some great shots herself, even changing from program mode!
