Pros: Price, Great Picture quality Cons: Lack of Options
A value priced Philips? Are you thinking a bad quality product with those words? This t.v. is value, as in a good value, not cheaply made. I think this television is a decent product, as long as you are using it for basic functions. Its silver, and looks ...
Pros: Good looks, relatively light for its size, good colors, hidden side inputs Cons: Poor geometry, problem with the component input
Looks great and if you just want it for decor it will do a perfect job. The problems. Before I start I want to tell you that I was very enthused about this tv and wanted to keep it so bad that I went through the trouble of trying 3 units before I ...
Pros: Multiple inputs, including component for DVD
16:9 expansion option for letterbox DVD's
Sharp, vibrant picture Cons: Screen geometry is not perfect
Can not label channels
I was a little nervous about this purchase after reading several less than positive reviews on the internet. But at $180 after rebate it was clearly the best value for this size/feature set at Best Buy, so I decided to give it a try. I was looking for ...
Pros: A lot of features, good horizontal resolution, nice inputs/outputs, digital comb filter. Cons: TV has to warm up for approx. 10 seconds before it comes on.
This is the revised version of my review of the Philips 27PT543S 27" TV. I'll try to make it better than the last one but I'm not guaranteeing anything. It's all about the picture! Yes, picture is a critical thing these days. I don't know ...
Pros: Great picture/sound for the price. Nice features: sound leveler, favorites, voice options and picture modes. Cons: A VERY ANNOYING high pitched squeal which sounds like a dog whistle!!
We've had the same console TV since we married over 20 years ago, and it's finally given out. We shopped around, checked out Consumer Reports, and finally bought one from Best Buy. I had my heart set on the Toshiba, about $20 more, but my husband was in ...
Pros: Very inexpensive, bright/sharp picture, not horrible looking Cons: very deep and heavy....but it's a CRT, so what should you expect?
I bought this TV over 2 years ago (moved with it at least 3 times since then) and it is still working like the day i brought it home. The picture is bright and sharp, especially when I use the component inputs for DVD. I was a little worried about buying it because it was so inexpensive ($250 when i bought it), but I took the chance anyways and it paid off. Bottom line is that I would definitely buy it again.
Pros: Nice picture quality Cons: TV dies long before it should
Worked great for a couple of years but started turning itself on/off. I heard it is a prevalent and widespread problem. I'd never buy a Philips again if they're not reputable enough to back up such a major problem.
Pros: Good sound. Picture is okay when you get it. Cons: Poor product warranty.
Problem started 3 months after we purchased it. The picture won't stay on for more than 10 -15 minutes at a time. We get sound, NO PICTURE. Customer service was rude, warranty doesn't cover labor after 3 months (really believes in their product!!) Paid over $200, will cost $80-100 to fix!
Pros: Returned it no questions asked. In line, another one was in front of me. Cons: Dead on arrival.
I bought this TV at Costco for $199. It was dead on arrival. The screen was black. The green light on the front lit up, but that's all. Tech support wanted me to call someone for warranty service, but I just returned it.
Pros: Great picture quality for the price.
Three video inputs. Cons: Can't fine tune the treble and bass
I picked this unit up yesterday. My decision was based primarily on price. I needed a second TV in the bedroom to hook-up to my ReplayTv PVR. I am very pleased with the picture quality, and the number video inputs. The sound is adequate; however, one can't fine tune the treble and bass. There are factory presets you can choose from such as 'movie', 'music' etc. The most you can do is choose to boost bass or treble with a yes/no setting. As for durability so far so good. No problems. Based on the price, and picture quality I would recommend this unit.
