Pros: Cheap, fast startup with MP3 CDs, does the basics okay. Cons: ID3 tags scroll 3x before they stop, unit can hang completely, FF/RW problems.
About $69.99 at Target stores.
The Philips EXP313 is one of the latest MP3 CD players available today from Philips, and appears to be an upgraded version of their prior 301/303 models from a few years back, models which didn't have ID3 text...

Higly recommended

Pros: Good battery life . ID tags, display. Cons: Earphone location on the player, not very handy.
I haven't had a single problem with my player. I got it used on Ebay really cheap. I have burned lots of CDs with my computer doing custom orders. I love the fact of being able to put everything inside folders and with ID tags.
Battery life is smaller using only mp3 disc (about 4 to 5 hours) maybe an hour or two more using only regular CDs.
Anti-Skip technology works also very well with the player. I use it on the gym, doing excercises and haven't had a single playing issue.
Highly recommended!

Except for the backlit display,...
by pete013_dt3000 ,Dec 25 '02
Except for the backlit display, this model has all the features of last year's Expanium 503 model for 1/2 the price. Includes every function, even fast forward within a song or album. Best screen display of the ones I've seen (reads MP3 file tags). Toggle between artist, title, album, filename. Sound is excellent. Sold with car accessories(play on your tape player & plug into lighter), AC adapter - an unbelievable buy. The surface of the player and the display screen is prone to scratches over time so you have to be extra careful to protect the unit from the elements.
