Pros: Simple, sleek looks, very configurable and fairly easy to program. Relatively inexpensive, durable. Cons: Not all features of all devices supported; best to have original remotes to learn from.
Let me begin by saying that I'm wary of anything that claims to be able to control 'everything'... the sheer contradiction in terms means that inevitably one will be disappointed when trying to verift such a claim. That being said, I was surprise ...
Pros: Cool factor. Cons: More user adjustable features. A third user screen to program. Did not live long.
I saw this baby at the local wal-mart and rushed home to check epinions for reviews before buying. The price was good but of course the remote is packaged in one of those indestructable plastic packages. You know the ones I am talking about, you need a ...
Pros: Excellent value. Learning remote. Cons: No macros. Can't create custom button labels. Can't connect with a PC.
After checking out http://www.remotecentral.com, I was all set to pay over $100 for a Home Theatre Master MX-500 until I read the reviews of the Philips PM8TSMD here (OK, my wife balked at the price of the MX-500). I found a PM8TSMD on Ebay for $29, but ...
Pros: Nice looking package, Easy to program, Back lit display Cons: Limited display function, Limited memory per device, Limited customisation of labels
I just purchased this unit from Radio Shack for $39.99 CND. This is one of the best remotes for its price. So far I have been able to program it to meet most of my needs. I have a Samsung HDTV big screen, Denon AVR 1403, Toshiba DVD, JVC VCR and ...
Pros: Nice ergos, right-side-up learning, automatic backlighting Cons: Short life span
All the nice features of this remote were offset by the fact that it died about 10 months after I got it. To be honest, the touchscreen has suffered from intermittent unresponsiveness ever since I got it, but the problem has grown progressively more frequent, until now it's just unusable. It's a shame, because it has some nice design features. The IR receptor on the "back" of the unit, so you can have it right-side-up with the unit it is learning from, is a really good idea. The ergonomics and shape are great. The "indiglo" backlighting that comes on automatically when it senses conditions are dark enough is seamless and slick. But it is useless now after ten months of pretty normal, even light, use. I can't recommend it, and I won't buy another Philips product anytime soon.

Pros: Price was good, coolness factor Cons: Code list is very limited, chews batteries
I was very pleased with myself (at first) for making a bargain buy on this for $49.00. When I got home I discovered that programming was simple. Only my Mitsubishi big screen worked with delivered codes...My LITEON DVD-R, my Kenwood DTS receiver, and my Motorola HD/cable box and DVR do not work AT ALL...delivered codes do not work, code searches do not work. The only way around this was to "teach" the remote every button for 4 remote controls. This is a painful process. When I was about 80% through programming the remote to every button on my remotes...the batteries died (Four fresh AAA Energizers). This was a horrible purchase. I am returning it to the store where I got it...
