Pros: Really koool Styling, High Tech Operation - 2.4Ghz - 2 lines - speakerphone Cons: ATT "Death-Star" logo gives me the creeps. Made in China. M-in-Law still gets through

Pros: Reception is excellent, speaker phone, corded phone is helpful, 2-lines Cons: Battery life could be a bit better, no AA slot in case of outage
The AT&T 2462 is the best corded/cordless combo you can find in the market today. I was mostly impressed that a 2-line phone can be this good. The box was pretty small and was easy to carry. The package came with a phone jack, a cord for the corded phone...
Pros: Lots of features, second battery port in base, good value Cons: Some functions not intuitive, base angle not high enough.
We needed a 2 line phone for our small business. After our old Panasonic was at the end of its life. The AT&T seemed to fit the bill. The price was good and seemed to have nice features. We liked the idea of having a second handset without having to plug ...
Pros: Clear/good sound quality, good range, and spare battery that the base can operate on Cons: Not wall mountable, clumsy menu navigation at times, and no shared name/number lists
We've had one now for a while, and my wife and I both like it. She was skeptical at first (because of the price), but has come around and likes the phone, too. It's much clearer than any other cordless phone we tried, and doesn't sound as "tiny" (i.e. ...
I needed a cordless phone with 2 lines that could be expanded. The corded base was a bonus as I am a little concerned that a cordless handset will be dead just when I need it. The AT&T 2462 seemed to fit the bill perfectly. My first inkling that this ...
Pros: Compact and stylish. Good base functions. Battery backup. Easy menu system. Cons: Handset, not AT&T's best. Poor range. Switching between lines on the base is unintuitive.

Pros: minimal cords, great design and feel Cons: a bit pricey, base handset cord tangles

The phone base is black and grey with rounded corners. It's very well designed for a base. The handset feels great in my hand and the buttons are simple and easy to use. The LCD screen is large enough to see incoming calls from...
Pros: One cordless set for two different phone lines Cons: The the quality of the audio of my greeting was ATROCIOUS.
Last Weekend (08/17-18/02) I purchased the AT&T product "2-Line Corded/Cordless Answering System 2462" for $229.99 from Office Depot. It has been a disaster.
Pros: The AT&T 2462 system measured up to the standards described by the favorable reviewers. Cons: I have to depress the Line 1/2 button before picking up headset.
I spent a lot of time tying to research the pros and cons of the AT&T 2462 2-Line 2.4 GHz phone system. The conflicting reviews are a mystery. I finally placed my confidence in the favorable reviewers as well as the reputation for high quality ...
Pros: None found Cons: Very poor outgoing message quality
I had purchased two of these. Neither had good quality on the outgoing message and neither would actually take a message. If someone was to call the outgoing message would start, but before they could leave a message it would just hang up. Customer...
Pros: Cordless handsets that don't need a telephone jack Cons: Poor audio on messages (both In and outgoing) World's slowest speed dial
I just purchased the 2462. Have spent about an hour working with it and will now pack it up and bring it back to Best Buy. It is missing several features that would have been very easy to install (and can be found on Cheaper phones)
Most annoying...
Pros: Lots of features, easy menus, nice design. Cons: Conferencing feature does not work as advertised.
There are a lot of phones out there for the home office user, but most of them are pretty clunky, complicated and expensive. The AT&T is well-designed, easy-to-use and good value for the price. Got it from Best Buy on an open box deal so only paid...

I won't make this review too long. Just going to tell you what a wonderful phone system this is. I just got rid of my Siemens 2.4GHz 8 handset 2 line system and replaced it with the AT&T 2462. This is a great system. Works like it should. What you get...
Pros: Styling, range, clarity, features Cons: Audio of recorded greeting terrible, cordless lacks durability
Pricey phone has great features but audio quality of greeting is horrible and the cordless phone is not very durable, in that even putting the phone down on a desk will cause it to reset and hunt for the base. When you un-clip the phone from your belt,...
Pros: Intercom/paging for phone to phone/Unique identifier each phone/speakerphone on cordless unit/easy to use menu. Cons: base is not wallmount/handset falls off base/speakerphone on base unit choppy
Better ones out there I'm sure. Base does not allow wall mount which I needed very much. Speakerphone on base chops up the audio on the receive end so the person has to asking you over and over what did you say, what did you say, you keep breaking up...
Pros: Separate headset button; headset jack on base; adequate sound quality; can retrieve messages remotely Cons: one mailbox per line; screen tough to see; menus fair; number of messages not shown

Pros: Styling, simple operation, 2.4 Ghz,speaker phone at base and handset. Cons: Cordless handset sound is tinny and weak. No Ni-Mh batteries.
This phone system from ATT is an improvement over other models I've own. The system is expandable up to 8 handsets. Caller Id, 25 minutes digital recording, speaker phone in handset and base. There's headset jacks on base and head set. The Base has a back...
Pros: Great features, including charger for spare battery. Cons: Poor audio quality. When battery gets too low, phone dies without warning. Slow keypad response.
This would be a great phone if only it had better sound. Ergonomics are good, and it has a spare battery charger. It has a handset speakerphone, which would be great for those times you are waiting on hold. Unfortunately, you'll have to turn off all...
Please save yourself = don't go there! by designpolice ,Jun 03 '05
Pros: looks good - but looks aren't everything esp when the phone does not work well. Cons: popping/static is intolerable, handset battery has a life of 1 phone call per day.
you would think AT&T - who i believe invented the telephone would think more highly of the job they are doing! this phone has been the bane of my existence and for the major investment of $236 its terrible and lacking in the most basic ways. The memory only holds a limited amount then the phone get confused and does not work, the static and popping on the line is intolerable and leads clients to ask "what is that sound?" how embarrassing. The handset battery has a life of 1 phone call per day. i am shocked that i am still in business, and i am REALLY shocked that At&t can remain in business ripping off consumers as they have. shame on you!
Pros: It makes good modern art. Cons: The answering machine is worthless.
I had this phone for only a few months before the answering machine started cutting people off after about 1 minute while they were leaving a message. It did it to me on several occasions when I was trying to leave a message for myself at home. The machine suddenly blurts out - "Incorrect code, please try again." It doesn't happen every time but almost every time. I have now had AT&T send me two replacement phones and they ALL have had this same problem. Their customer service, though polite, don't have a clue and ask all the same questions over and over and never accomplish anything. AT&T is about to send me the "upgrade" version of this phone - 2562, but I am not holding my breath. DO NOT buy this phone, it is not worth the hassle. This is the LAST AT&T Product I will ever buy.
Bad Enough To Drive You Back To A Corded Phone by meagie ,Sep 04 '03
Pros: Corded base, little could go wrong there Cons: Poor quality, too many features that did not work in small phone package
While I purchased this phone with high hopes, the quality was amazingly poor. The range was more limiting than advertised, and the phone slow to respond. If you hang up one line quickly to get another call, it does not register the hang up and remains engaged in the call. I had this phone less than 6 months and the extra handset stopped charging, then stopped working altogether. AT&T was no help, because they refuse to honor the warranty without a receipt. Ringtones sound alike so hard to tell which line is ringing. And like most digital answering systems, the quality is very poor.
Great sound quality....but....cuts off messages! by kls-opinion ,Sep 10 '04
Pros: Good voice quality on the remote units and on the base; Cons: Answering system is HORRIBLE! IT "may" record or not sometimes it disconnects you several times!
We tested this AT& T Model 2462. Line switching is not very good, but can be worked around. However, two different bases were tested and messages were cut off. Tried everything suggested by customer service. Customer service department needs to be run better. They are not very good. Tried two bases, refused to test a third of the same model. When they sent me an upgrade ( model E2562), they sent the wrong remote units to go with it. Now I am dealing with an issue on the upgraded model E2562... can't put line one on hold to answer line two without the base disconnecting line one. AT&T customer service will not let me talk to the people researching the problem. Customer service takes down the information and passes it along to the research team. Then I have to wait 24 hours and call back again...only to be told they need more information and to call back in another 24 hours. Quite frankly, I think they are stalling for the warranty to run out, or for me to give up. There must be something that can be done. Good Luck - finding a working system.
Pros: Cordless has good range Cons: Audio quality not so great; started making "popping" sounds
The buttons are a bit small. For a fast dialer this could be annoying.
The handset has the tendency to fall out of its cradle too easily. Sometimes just pushing the base unit causes the handset to come out of its craddle. Or, with the base unit on the desk, just moving the handset's cord could make the handset come out of its craddle.
The cordless handset started making "popping" sounds that both parties on the phone could hear. More recently, even the corded base station started to make this loud, annoying, "popping" sound.
The digital answering machine is acceptable. When the answering machine is on, a red LED blinks... and blinks... and blinks... it doesn't stop blinking. If there is a message on the machine, another red LED lights up, a solid red LED; the other red LED keeps on blinking. I think that is counter intuitive.
I was never thrilled about the phone, trying to convince myself that $230.00 was for a great phone. Until it started making that "popping" sound. At this point I don't even dare consider another AT&T phone.
I think I tried them all by daphoneman ,Aug 16 '04
Pros: Corded base phone. Base keypad with CID display. Headset plug on base. Multiple volume levels. Cons: LOTS OF STATIC!!!!
I bought and returned six different phones, including the AT&T 2462 and AT&T 2662, before finding one that gave high quality reception. I thought that the AT&T's higher price may provide better reception, but I was wrong. We wanted a 2-line cordless phone for our home and business. The 2462 and 2662 delivered with some nice features. The corded handset was a bonus, plus the base CID and speaker phone and keypad, gave this phone everything I could have possibly wanted. I would have kept it, despite the price, if the sound quality was better. After all, these are telephones, and if you can't hear the other person, it doesn't matter what features they pack into them. I finally ended up with a bare bones Panasonic KX-TG2267, and the reception is great.
