Pros: Very comfortable handset design; great range; excellent sound quality. Cons: Antenna is destined to break; totally useless beltclip!
It's no secret. I like Uniden's Digital Spread Spectrum (DSS) phones. The range and clarity of these phones has always impressed me. (Their non-DSS phones, however, are nothing to write home about.) So when Uniden announced their new TRU446 2.4Ghz DSS ...
Pros: Great Construction Awesome Range and Sound, 2 handsets, NiMH Batteries! Not NiCD Garbage Cons: Cant talk handset to handset and use as a intercom. No speakerphone option
Bulletproof Phone System VERY high quality. Has NiMH batteries. The batteries can take abuse more than NICD. I wont buy any phone with NiCDs. The Batteries charged up overnight. 10pm to 7 am. Nice.. Not the fastest but It does nice. Excellent sound...
Pros: Can use more than 2 handsets; outstanding range; clean reception Cons: Additional handsets (TXC400) pricey (approx $51)
My comments relate to the TRU4465-2, which is seems to be the same as the TRU446-2 except the TRU4465-2 base has a dialing pad and speakerphone. The main purpose of writing this review is to let people know that this phone will support more than two...
Pros: Great voice quality, no noise, great price Cons: none
I actually bought the two handset model. Here's my review I'm moving from amazon.com. (I requested that they delete my review there because the unreasonable editing they did to my review: they removed everything I said about epinions.com).
Pros: Great sound quality, comfortable handset, good range Cons: No battery level meter, crackles when standing next to a running microwave.
Excellent product... I'm very happy with the phone and would recommend it to others.
Microwaves cause a crackling noise if you stand next to them while talking on the phone. This doesn't surprise me as a microwave operates at 2.5GHz.

Pros: Lots of features. Stores long phone numbers for dial around long distance. Cons: Voice clarity is not what I expected. Range is less than expected.
I bought this phone based on what other reviewers said about range and clarity. I was disappointed in it's actual performance.
I need to replace an AT&T 9100 900 MHz Digital who's keypad is starting to fail and of course, the 9100 is no...
Pros: Very clear sound, well designed handset, intuitive commands Cons: Only one handset can communicate with the base, not really an expandable system
The phone I purchased was the TRU446-2 which comes with the base and phone along with a second phone and charger. Overall the phone has a very solid feel with a great design that fits your hand well. Sound quality on the phone that worked well was...
This product is a 2.4GHz spread spectrum cordless phone with caller ID and two handsets. It is headset compatible. It's possible we have a bad unit, but we've had multiple issues with this product, including inconsistent volume levels, and intermittent...
Pros: super reception Cons: can only expand system by one extra handset. no battery backup
i purchased this phone after buying the same phone with the answering machine. i loved the other system so well i bought this one for another room. has great reception and no static. this system can be expanded by one extra unit. i have owned several...
Pros: Great Range -
Excellent voice quality -
All the features you'll probably need Cons: You wouldn't want to whack the antenna too hard
This really is the best - and I've owned and tried (bought and returned) many. The voice quality is as good as my landline phone and no hollow sound. The range is incredible - I've gone as far as 300 yards from the house and it still works well.

Beware of refurbished Uniden phones by dwdurham ,Jan 29 '05
Pros: No extra phone charges with a completely dead phone. Cons: A complete and total waste of your time and money.
I purchased a refurbished Uniden phone from eCost.com. It was Dead on Arrival, no sign of life whatsoever. The eCost website did advertise it as refurbished with a 90 day warranty. I returned the phone as per the instructions in the Uniden User Manual that came in the box. I got a letter from Uniden a week later telling me that the phone had been refurbished by an unauthorized repair shop and that Uniden would repair the phone only if I prepaid the repair. The amount they named was one and a half times the purchase price I paid to eCost. Uniden suggested I get the phone repaired by eCost. Email to eCost has not been answered or even acknowledged. Buyer Beware!
Pros: Worked with our online answering service. Nothing else Cons: Erratic behaviour, disapointing customer service.
Our experiences with this phone began more than a year ago. They worked great for about 3 months, then both units started having problems. They would ring, then sometimes they would not,.. you could only tell by looking at the display. Followed Unidens advice to move the main unit away from the microwave oven, even though it was already 8 feet away and to the back of the appliance. This did nothing. Taking out the batteries and letting the phones refresh themselves did nothing either. Then, first one, then the other, developed a problem with the talking portion of the things, We would talk and then suddenly the person on the other end wouldn't be able to hear us. We end up having to bang the phone on something hard to "fix" it. Thank god for cell phones but as soon as we have some money for it, we will replace these Uniden junkers. And the next one will not be a Uniden product.
