The Pioneer DVR-520H-S DVD Recorder is very easy to use. My wife records her soaps to the HD and plays them back without my assistance (now that's easy).
It records from HD to DVD quick, easy and with remarkable quality. It also copies non copy-write DVD’s quick and easy by reading the DVD, saving it temporarily to the HD and asking for the blank DVD when finished very similar to a computer. I really like this recorder.

This recorder has all of the features I was looking for in a recorder. I don’t have to chase down a blank VCR tape or DVD disk when I realize something I want to record from TV is about to come on. I PUT IT ON THE HARD DRIVE.

I have used other recorders and this has been the best by far.

Pros: it only works sometimes

I bought mine about 3 ears ago. From the first day I had problems copying to DVD...it won't read/write the major brands....when it does...it ends up destroying them...CAN'T USE THIS DISC sign....I wish I'd never bought one....it's a pile of junk.....

I recently bought this DVD Recorder from Futureshop, have been looking for a few months now.

Quick run down of features; 80GB storage which equals about 35 hours of SP recording, 17 hours of FINE recording and 102hour of EP recording. Nice and slim unit, stays cool when burning and running for long amounts of time. Also works a DVD player, nice if your looking on buying your first dvd player. Can write at 8x speeds, conveinent commercial skip, slow motion, all your basic features. Has a DV input, so you can hook up for camcorder and burn to dvd, NICE! Easy timer recording, VCR+ for people with TV Guide.

Once you have recorded your program, you may edit it by take commercials out, combine, erase.

One minor con is you CANNOT copy DVDs movies to the Harddrive due to copyright infringment.
