Pros: May just be the best -R/-RW unit available at any price. Cons: Difficulty in recording older source tapes. Cable-box record quality was a bit less-than-desired. Minor cons!
Since nobody else has reviewed this unit (and after reading so many horror stories about other DVRs out there) I thought I'd do the honor. This is simply a great, great unit. The picture quality (with 32 settings available between the 2 and the 6-hour ...
Pros: Best-quality recording is actually quite good; excellent timer function. Cons: Motion flicker and artifacts; difficult text entry.
I have had my Pioneer DVR-310S for over a year now. Overall, I am pleased, but there are some minor issues with the recorder, including the video encoder. Major Features DVD Video Recording - The major purpose of the DVR-310S is to ...
Pros: Easy to use, good quality Cons: Can't edit after recording.
I just got my Pioneer DVR-310S recorder, so I haven't had time to experiment with it that much. However, I've already found a few "problems" that have prompted me to return it. 1) like (probably) all other DVD recorders, it won't let you record ...
Pros: Firewire input about 20% better than SVHS Cons: random data transfer rate which drives me nuts
I bought one of these units to dub wedding videos from miniDV through a firewire cable into the Pioneer recorder. The problem is, while it claims that you have up to 32 levels of recording, it would never be as indicated. Generally, the faster the ...
Had miserable experience with my prior recorder (Gateway AR230). Unreliable. Owned it for a week, refunded it in a flash!!! Based on the ONLY two existing reviews I read about Pioneer (on epinions), I purchased it on Ebay. LOVE it! It's everything the reviewers said. I never thought I would be happy just being able to rely on a recorder to do what I ask it! Thanks guys!
Great product . Worth to buy by topazle ,Sep 17 '04
Pros: Great Audio .able to record EP mode. Cons: 2 channel audio recording
I did alot af research before buying this product. I like its design and famous Pionner branch in term of DVD recording tecnology.
PROS : sleek design, great sound recording, via DV input you can controll DVD camera with Piooner remote controll ( my DVD Cam is Sony). Three year warranty from shop.
CONS: Audio recording only 2 channels(L&R-stereo).Need more function eg. input optical digital sound.
Not able to record VHS NTSC mode ( my region support PAL). Otherwise I'm happy with this product.
I used this recorder for my business day and night for 2 years and it just keeps going and going, Good picture and audio, firewire (a must have) but this one has in and out unlike firewire on say a song standalone dvd recorder
So plug the firewire into your computer and the dvd recorder now uses its hardware to decommpress video out to your computer where you can now capture at full 720 by 480 dv!
Now you have video you can edit rom a dvd with high quality!!!
I have 4 dvd recorders and my next one will be a pioneer again
I just purchased this item through www.ecost.com for 276.94 including shipping. I received the item in 5 days
I am very happy with it. I have a Tivo I can transfer movies to DVD easy. I use DISH NETWORK. It was very easy to setup and record. I love it, you can use it with your DV-CAMCORDER. I have not done this yet.
Pioneer DVR-310S A very good DVD recorder by bob555 ,Mar 23 '04
Pros: Small size, clock sets automatically, great picture and sound Cons: User manual is not that clear they need to be much more clear.
I have had my Pioneer DVR-310S for three months now. It works well, and I have had no trouble transferring my older VHS home movies to DVD. I bought it for that purpose, plus I wanted a way to store movies from my mini DV camera. I have not had any trouble. Once, it locked up on a DVD-R that I had not finalized yet, but it only happened once and it did not do it any more after I powered down the unit and then turned power back on. I also use it to record shows off of TV for later viewing. It does that very well, and with much better picture and sound than any type of VHS. I would buy this unit again.
I purchased the Pioneer 310 DVD recorder at the end of last July. The unit received little use; I would estimate 30 movies and 3 recorded discs in a 12 month span. Unfortunately for me, just at the 12 month Pioneer warranty mark, the unit stopped working. When putting a dvd in, it says 'loading' for about 30 seconds, makes some strange noises, then ejects the disc. I tried a lens cleaning dvd but it would not recognize that either. I contacted Pioneer customer service and after a few emails back and forth, they stated that they would not cover the unit under warranty - I would need to ship it to them with a $70 non-refundable evaluation fee enclosed!? The unit will go in the garbage and the $70 will go toward a more reliable brand DVD recorder. Lesson learned.
