Polaroid DVP-500 DVD Player

Pros: Slim, great features for cost, stays cool for best playback, plays DVD+R format.
Cons: None encountered so far...

I bought this as a progressive replacement for my Apex that I had for about 3 years. This is an excellent player for the cost. It's super slim, so it fits in my over crowded entertainment center. The Coaxial digital output plays AC-3 5.1 and DTS 5.1 perfectly to my receiver. The video output through the S-Video is superb! (I haven't even used component yet b/c I'm waiting on my HDTV to arrive). For the money, you get great features, plays DVD+R & SVCD, MP3 decoding, Component video, Coaxial/optical digitals, and built-in 5.1 decoder for receivers w/o decoder but output capabilities. Unit also stays cool in an overcrowded center which really helps playback quality!!!
