Pros: Cute, Small, compact, includes docking station Cons: no optical zoom
I just purchased my camera at Big Lots for under $100 also. I mainly purchased this camera for my trip to New York next year but I found that the camera is perfect for everyday use.
The thing I probably love most about this camera is the fact that it is so small and portable. There are a couple other things I like about the camera It holds a pretty good amount of pictures, and includes a docking station. It even reminds me of the new SonyCyber shot.
The only thing I least like about it is the fact that it has no optical zoom.
Overall I love this camera. I recommend it for any beginners
It's a $100 camera, fella.... by oldbusguy ,Jun 02 '04
Pros: Handy, compact, and versatile. Cons: For the money, I can't think of any
Unfortunately, the only other review I've found on this little camera rips it. The good news is that I bought it before I found the review.
I, too, bought mine at Big Lots for under $100.00. I find it a delightful little camera... handy, very compact, and if the other reviewer finds it "not very user friendly" I suggest he not try anything really complicated (like tying shoelaces).
Just keep in mind... it's a $100 camera. If you want an $800 Pentax, it's going to cost you $800.00!!!

Pros: Size, Durability, Appearance, Ease of Use, Price. Cons: Steady hand needed for good pictures, webcam feature is a bit dark.
I bought this camera based on size, price and the specs listed on the box. I was rather pleased with my purchase because of the appearance and durability of the camera. I will note that I have a Kodak 2.2 megapixel camera that takes far better quality pictures, however it also cost me $80 more than this ion 230 did. I will agree with the other review on this site in that the quality of your picture depends on how steady your hand is and the web cam feature is rather dark without the sun shining directly on you. I however did not buy this camera to take professional pics, i bought it to easily fit in my pocket and have it on me at the bar and parties when i wanted to take a pic of some friends or whatever might catch my eye. Overall, i would say this camera is definitely worth $100 at BIG LOTS, however i would not advise paying any more for it than that.
Pros: 3 extra USB ports on the dock, and the dock charges the battery. Cons: Horrible pictures, not user friendly at all.
I thought this camera was a deal at big lots for $100, but it is a rip off.
It works, sometimes, and you have to be perfectly still and in the right light to have an even half-decent picture.
The webcam is HORRIBLE. I had it on in a very bright room, and it had a bad picture (even for a webcam) and I had to have a light directly shine on my face to have it even half show up.
Buy an HP, not this, or you will be very disappointed. I returned it.
