    Oct 08 '04
Pros: Absolutely neutral sounding! Astonishing clarity! Superior looks and design! Best bargain of all-time!
Cons: Priced so low that some people will not take it seriously! What a shame!

  • Big bang for the buck

    Dec 27 '05
    Pros: Price, built, sound quality
Cons: None, to a non-audiophile "normal" living person!

Summary: It's been a while I was looking for those R30 speakers from fry's that went on and off the sale price of $39.99 a piece. Finally I told to myself that I need them for sure and pulled the trigger on a sunny day! I had to call the CSR at Outpost.com in ... read more

  • A real review on these you can count on

    Oct 25 '05
Pros: A value and performer that is well beyond what is expected.
Cons: I wish the cherry finish was still available, you snooze you loose.

Summary: I have had a few nice speaker set ups in my time including Polk, Klipsch, B&W Etc.. I listen to high resolution formats like DVD-Audio and SACD every day.My friends and family would call me an audiophile but I just enjoy a dialed in system. I ... read more

  • Bronze Medal Winner

    Oct 15 '04
Pros: A speaker that's just the right size: great for movies, and good for music
Cons: Music is accurate, yet it falls a little short on liveliness: bass is good though

Summary: After I reviewed the Alpha 20's from 'Infinity', I also remembered a speaker that was also sold at the Future Shop that surprised me in it's quality. Polk Audio brought out the "R" series a few years back, and were already discontinuing the series. ... read more

  • Great All Around

    Dec 20 '06
Pros: great highs and mids. great price. the wife approved the stylish look
Cons: the matching rear speakers are bookshelf and bulky

Summary: I researched on this site and many others before making my purchase. even with my low end all in one receiver they sound

  • Simply Amazing!

    May 25 '05
Pros: Great sound, great looks, great size, great price.
    Cons: They were not free.

Summary: Remember that song "You're simply the best....." That is what I think of these (for the price anyway). I bought these without even seeing them in person and I am just amazed now how good these are. They are well built, sound great and got them for $120

  • Polk R30s, ok for the price I paid

    May 21 '05
    Pros: Decent lows.
    Cons: Imbalance mids to highs.

Summary: I saw these were on sale for $80 for the pair so I looked at reviews and decided to slap down the cash. Well at first I was impressed with the lows these speakers produced with such small drivers compared to my old 20 year old speakers which have more

  • Best bang for the buck!

    Apr 02 '05
Pros: Great imaging and sounds great for home theater
Cons: Does seem to lack that 'livelyness'

Summary: I'm not a guy that knows what an overly expensive sound system setup sounds like. But I do know that I like what I hear. I have a set of R50s for the front and yes R30 for the rear. Yes... the R30s (for the price I had to pick these up) Coupled with

  • Polk R30s a bad deal even at $50

    Feb 11 '05
Pros: they look nice and have a small floor footprint
Cons: tinny midrange and grating treble

Summary: I just had a pair of Polk Audio R30 towers delivered for $49.99 each + shipping from Outpost.com. I connected them to both a Harmon-Kardon HK 3480 receiver and Hafler DH-220 power amplifier and listed to them with a variety of sources including Scott

  • CLEAR AND POWERFUL

    Jun 01 '04
Pros: very transparent sound, slighty warm sound, strong defined bass from port.
    Cons: none

Summary: AUDIOPHILE like speakers that get out of the way of music, don't pronounce themselves in any way...that give music any nothing else, that is R30. clean, clear and strong bass. I bought these on a lark from Fry's and using a pioneer d412 to drive them
