Pros: Easy-to-use, long battery life, good build quality Cons: Nothing major
I purchased this Panasonic MP3 player for a recent business trip that I took. I had started my searching for a MP3 player with the small memory-stick based devices-- I quickly realized that the economic feasibility of them just wasn't there. With the MP3...
Pros: cheap, mp3 functions, battery life Cons: cheapo headphones, no AC adapter
This is a good .mp3 player. I bought it because I have several .mp3 music collection discs and this Panasonic plays them very well. It is great on batteries and very shock proof. For the price I would highly recommend this unit; however, there are a...

Played All My MP3 Files With No Problem/
Good Instruction Manual Cons: No Back Light/
Limited But Adequate Volume
I was looking for a MP3 CD-R/CD-RW player and did some research on various players in the $100 price range. The reviews for the SL-MP35 were good overall, but I read a few reviews that stated the volume did not go high enough. I purchased the player with...
Pros: sturdy; long battery life Cons: not as feature-rich as competing models; more volume would be nice
A month or so ago, I got the Portable MP3 Bug. (CDs sound much better, but when you're not in a nice quiet listening room, ultimate sound quality isn't as much an issue. I wanted MP3 "on the road.") I compared the different configurations, from the...
Pros: Battery life, sound quality, boot-up time Cons: Buggy firmware and poor user interface
I have owned an MP3 CD player since they first came out over two years ago. During that time I also had a chance to experiment with a few models, and I know a well-designed player when I see it. Unfortunately, Panasonic SL-MP35 is not one.

This player was actually a trade-in for me. I made the mistake of buying the finicky TDK Mojo, which died only two months later. At first I was skeptical, but after a week of ownership, I am more impressed with the Panasonic player.
It sounds marvelous, and the expected battery life of 35 to 40 hours trounces anything else similar out there. It also looks natty enough. However, it feels flimsy - dropping this could crack it easily. Mine came with included earbuds, which went into the garbage immediately; they were uncomfortable and tinny-sounding. Finally, the display isn't perfect; you can only see one line of text, and it truncates song names more often than not. However, I'll trade text for long battery life, as I usually just throw it on random play anyhow.
I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a basic player that will stay in a secure place most of the time (eg. purse) and that won't need frequent battery changes.
