Pros: Price, Portability, Doesn't Skip Cons: Battery Compartment, Memory
The MP3 revolution is here. Diamond is gradually phasing these out to move toward its Rio 500 and other models. I picked this one up at Best Buy for 139.99, and used the 50 dollar rebate. I must say, I am impressed.
Installation ...

Pros: Size, some of the software Cons: Memory, Build Quality, Ear phones
Though the premise of the player is very practical and useful for today's technology-frenzied population, in practice it has quite a few nagging flaws.
The PMP300 is equipped with a measly 32 Mb of memory. This may be the number 1 draw-back...

Pros: Unskipping great music Cons: annoying software
I recently acquired a diamond MP3 player. The sounds is excellent and I was very impressed with its portability and no skip play. However it does have a few problems. The computer program is annoying and sometimes hard to work. At times I could not...

Pros: Easy to transfer MP3s to and very compact. Cons: Software lacking, not very durable.
Due to a pricing error at an online vendor, I was able to get the Rio MP3 player for only $50. I had been thinking about getting one, and since the price was right, I decided to get this new toy. While the Rio does have some great features and is easy...

Pros: Small, portable. Cons: Fragile, not much memory.
I bought this MP3 player last year, mostly because the majority of my music was in MP3 form and I wanted the functionality and size of MP3 over that of CD. Also, I lacked a CD-Burner, so mixes were out of the question. Now that I DO have a CD burner,...

Pros: It's digital, doesn't skip, can't be scratched, and you'll always get cd sound quality and doesn't wear out. Cons: This unit is a nice high tech toy but like most high tech toys this unit is kind of expensive.
Man technology is getting better and better every year. I like this portable MP3 player because you can record it and it's all digital and cd quality sound. The Diamond was the first to hit the market with a portable MP3 player; RIO300. That unit...

Pros: A few Cons: The cost for the performance
The Diamond PMP300-Special Edition: First of all this is a Mp3 player that is way overpriced for its performance. This player had been recomended numerous times to me and I found it to be a major disapointment! This was described to me as the hot new Mp3...

Pros: Just like a programmable CD player Cons: Too expensive, too little memory onboard.
All in all, I like my RIO PMP300. But it was free; you couldn't force me to pay 200 for basically a walkman. I enjoy listening to my MP3's; it's like a programmable CD player. But without spending an extra 100 for a memory card, you get only 30...

Pros: small, doesn't skip, good battery life, card expansion Cons: needs more memory, should have usb connection, no radio
the rio should definately go down in history as one of the coolest portable audio players and also as the product that transformed the way we listen to music. as the very first mp3 player (that is not a computer) this product is certainly a milestone,...

Pros: Very portable and small. Great Quality. Cons: might not hold enough memory for some people.
I have just recently bought a PMP-300 portable mp3 player. They are very easy to use and are very small and versatile. They are great if you are on the go because it doesn't get in the way. A mandatory thing to get is the extra flash memory. Without it...

Pros: skip-proof, small, fast uploads Cons: expensive, limited memory
Let me start off by pointing out what is good with the Rio PMP300:
1.The size of the Rio PMP300 is smaller than any CD player and any Minidisc player. Actual weight with a battery is only about 2 oz. I can easily fit the Rio PMP300 into almost all...

Pros: it works, durable, 3rd party support, good quality, and upgradable Cons: to upgrade is expensive (but that is true of all players)
Ok, I was one of the first people to get a Diamond player. When it came out, it was THE big thing for mp3's. It was upgradeable from 32meg to infinity (rule of thumb, 1meg is about 1min of CD quality music), it was lightweight, and it ran 12 hours on...

Pros: small, light-weight, easy to use Cons: a few bugs, not much bass
I received a Diamond Rio PMP300 MP3 player for christmas, and I have been very impressed with it so far. It came with 32 megs of internal memory to store songs on. This may seem shabby, but you can upgrade it to 48 megs (what I did) or 64 megs with...

Pros: low cost and durable Cons: plain black case and unreliable parallel connector
I've had my Rio 300 since Aug 99, it's the plain black not the cool aqua model. That should give you some idea of it's durability. I've dropped it several times onto carpeted floors and it still works.
One piece of advice, if you prefer...

Pros: Portable mp3 music; mix 'n' match your own melodies Cons: First generation device has a few problems; mp3 suffers from system performance and bandwidth issues
I have had my Diamond Rio since May '99. I am aware that this is the first generation of the product, and while the price was a bit hefty for something which should be an under-$100 product in a year or so, I am not disappointed.
First,...
