Pros: Good idea to make mp3s portable. Cons: Too expensive, not enough power
I love mp3s. I have over 500 of them. I collect them as a hobby almost. It is so much easier to have instant access to all of my favorite songs on my desktop. The problem comes when I want to take these compacted, high-quality tunes with me. I had...

Pros: Everything! Cons: None
I first heard about this product in a Best Buy mag. As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed it! I have always been a real fan of music, but buying CD's got expensive and I couldn't go the CD store every day. On my birthday, I asked my grandparents for the...

Pros: Zero skipping, any song you want, long battery life. Cons: No back lit display and not very loud.
I bought the Rio about 3 months after it was first released. I am glad that I bought this over any other format of portable audio. It beats anything out there! CD's, mini-disc, tape can't compare.
The Rio is great for running or any other...

Pros: no moving parts Cons: limited storage space
I bought one since I don't use my "Walkman" much anymore (don't use tapes anymore) and it's too much trouble to use my CD burner to make "greatest hits" CDs [i.e. if it were convenient to burn CDs, I'd only be using CDs]
So...

Pros: Great sound quality and small size Cons: low memory.
I got a pmp-300 portable mp3 for xmas and I think it is very cool. I can pick and chose the music I want to listen to. The built in memory allows you to play about 7 or 8 songs, which is not too bad. The nice thing is that you can extend the memory by...

Pros: Small, tolerates shaking Cons: Slow to load, not enough memory
Digital is the future of portable audio, but this device isn't it. The included software doesn't work with Windows NT or Windows 2000, the two operating systems I use. I finally dug up a Windows 95 system, but it took so long to get songs encoded and...

Pros: Mobility;great sound;light weight; no skipping Cons: Little memory; cost
My first impression of the gift I got from a friend for being his best man was that it would be a useless piece of gadgetry intended for teenagers who skate to school and back. Big mistake! The Rio player has proven itself to be a very nice add-on to our...

Pros: cheap Cons: not much space
The Diamond Rio PMP300 is an ok MP3 player. It only has 32MB which is simply not enough to satisfy me and want most users want. Although, Diamond's Rio PMP300 is the first portable MP3 music player for under $200 that stores up to 60 minutes of...

Pros: Small Cons: A waste of time and money
No one denies that MP3s are awesome. But this player doesn't really further the case. The one word that best suits when I think about this player is simply mediocre. The sound is FM-like usually, though so much depends on the quality of your MP3s....

Pros: Solid Product, cheap, the first player Cons: Other better players, poorly built, not USB
RIO 300 is aging hardware. There are other cool mp3 players out there-
NOMAD II and RIO 500. RIO 600 is due soon. Although RIO 300 can't match those functionality and sleek design of them, it is the first mp3 player which created and expanded the...

Pros: Fun to play Cons: Small hard drive
From use and experience I am sold on the music quality and ease of use. This a very good buy for a music lover. I believe this is a very good price for this wonderful piece of mechanics. One of the wonderful things that is different then the CD player is...

Pros: Light, skip-free, cool looking Cons: Buggy software, little onboard memory
Recently the music industry has been shocked by the arrival and popularity of the digital music format known as MP3. With this format, music can be compressed 11 times smaller and sound as good as a normal CD. Because of the small size of its files, MP3s...

Pros: Perfect for working out- completely customizable Cons: Limited memory- have to load songs on through your computer
I only bought my Diamond Rio because Beyond.com offered a $100 rebate on it. I figured that for $100 I could get the player and an extra memory card, which was a good deal. Boy am I glad that I did it.
The Diamond Rio is the perfect portable...
