Not durable, no software, lousy support- AVOID THIS ONE

by colossus27 , Apr 26 '05
Pros: Uh, it plays MP3s.
Cons: See review. Avoid all Rio products.
My 600 recently fell- oh, 3 feet. Once you take this thing apart, you will truly realize what little goes into these players. It can't be fixed- why? the connector on one of the PCBs lines up just so...if you're off, it's dead. I've got less than 50 ...

Basicly a cd player, that plays micro chips!

by gecrabill , Dec 27 '03
Pros: Stylish, plays many types of formats! Versatile, interchangeable faceplates! Expandable!
Cons: 32mb equals one 12 song cd! Not anybetter than a cd/mp3 player! expensively expandable!
Bought this a few years ago! Mainly bought it because it was versatile, I didnt know much about MP3 and should have done my research! 32mb is not enough, not even 64! I had the 32 mb one and could get about a 12 song cd on it with average quality music! ...

Rio 600 not pick of the litter

by bboemmel , Oct 09 '03
Pros: Great design on earphones, good display
Cons: Shut off frequently. Earphones stopped working after frequent use
I received the Rio 600 as a gift and used it frequently to work out with. It was the first mp3 player that I have ever owned and worked well for a couple of weeks. That's when the problems started. To start out with, this particular model only has ...

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling with my Rio.

by jennings2003 , Sep 08 '03
Pros: light, cool-looking, easy to use, battery life
Cons: a little unreliable, rubber material, small memory
I received my Rio600 a few years ago as a birthday gift. At the time, it was the peak of the Napster age. I wanted a MP3 so badly because I had no CD burner to listen to my newly pirated tracks away from my computer. So I got a Rio600. APPEARANCE The ...

SONICblue is easy, fun, and a great product!

by shelbare , May 18 '03
Pros: Small, easy to use, easy to hook up to the computer!
Cons: Not enough memory for more than 12-15 songs.
I recieved this from my husband for a birthday present earlier this year (2003). I have been looking for a portable playing device to use at work. I work for the US Postal Service and when I am getting my route ready in the morning I like to listen to...

Rio 600 64MB MP3 Player

by mykel1029 , May 03 '03
Pros: Small, Sounds Great, Easy To Use
Cons: Hard to Find Memory Backpacks, Expensive
The Rio 600 MP3 Player Is A Great Player. Its small, packed with features. All though this player is very expensive to expand, the On-Board 64MB can fit a good amount of music, about 12-16 tracks of varied bitrate of 128-320, And with a 32MB or 64MB...

Sonic Blue does NOT take care of their customers.

by kehunt99 , Apr 26 '03
Pros: Great while it worked.
Cons: Play and FF buttons stopped working after three months.
Beware any Rio or Sonic Blue product. I won't buy from them again. My player stopped working after only 3 months. I'd like nothing more than to tell you that Sonic Blue Customer support replaced my defective player to keep a happy customer, but I...

Is it worth the hassle?

by boyslie870 , Apr 14 '03
Pros: Sexy, small and portable
Cons: Took 2 replacements to get one working, small memory
My story with this sexy little MP3 player lasts around a year. I got it as a Christmas present, and as a special offer was given extra memory, to increase it to 32mb, firstly this memory only arrived in Feburary, but until then everthing was working...

Rio 600

by zachtp , Mar 08 '03
Pros: Good sound quality. Fun to use.
Cons: Not enough disk space. Battery guzzler.
I love the Rio 600! It has a fun to use OS system and great sound quality. It also looks really slick. Only bad thing, it has a very small hard drive and it uses a battery very quickly. Another cool feature of the Rio is that it has changeable...

Ok for a first mp3 player

by burns5 , Feb 05 '03
Pros: This unit is small. Pretty good sound quality.
Cons: Durability, small capacity.
Pros:
I bought this for running. CD players skipped too much. When I first purchased this device I loved it. I took it just about everywhere with me. The sound was nice and loud to keep me motivated.
Cons:
Absolutely did not hold up!...

Rio600

by dangray , Jan 01 '03
Pros: Rechargeable battery, easy to use.
Cons: Only 32mb, and memory isn't standard.
The Rio600 has 32mb memory, I purchased an additional 64mb ($80). I like the rechargable battery, it's a standard AA battery so if it goes bad, it's cheap and easy to replace. It has USB interface and downloads pretty quickly. I don't like that the...

Burn $150.00?

by RedFoxx74 , Oct 27 '02
Pros: Nice to look at, small, light
Cons: Very poor customer service, poor quality product
My husband bought a Rio 600 about 2 years ago and I loved it. It was the first MP3 Player I had ever used. He seemed pleased with it as well. I gradually took his Rio over, so he had to buy another one for himself. Well, the Rio has a cool backpack...

Rio 600 MP3 Player

by cerberus435 , Oct 12 '02
Pros: Conceptually sound, small, lightweight, promising
Cons: Flawed in execution, flimsy, watch out for those defects!
I liken the Rio 600 to the 2002 New York Mets: On paper, they are quite a contender.

If any of you had the unpleasant privilege of watching that team this year, you knew the execution was just flawed.

Same thing with the Rio 600....

RIO 600 is useless.

by meadot01 , Aug 26 '02
Pros: Not sure if there are any. Have been unable to get it to work.
Cons: Does not work. Absolutely useless customer support.
I had a Rio 500 which I was happy with for the most part. I decided I wanted some of the extra features and battery life from the 600 though. The RIO 600 has been totally useless since I purchased it. The software regularly hangs or does not recognize...
