Pros: Nice design Cons: I've been waiting more than 7 days for an RMA with no results.
I had owned a Rio 600 for about a week when inexplicably it locked up while downloading some songs. After several unsuccessful calls to SonicBlue (and waiting more than twenty minutes each time on my dime to connect), I finally reached a human being. He...

Pros: Small enough to put in your pocket Cons: Drains the life of your batteries quickly
If you are considering buying the Rio MP3 player, think about these things first. I was very excited to finally get a MP3 player and I have been let down. My first let down was when I tried to order "more stuff" from the RIO website for my MP3 player....

Only 32MB of storage!
I won the Rio 600 in the "Pepsi stuff" contest about a year ago. I thought it was great to get one of these devices and try it out finally. I got it home, installed the software and loaded music on it. I was in heaven. The headphones always seemed to...

Pros: Small, Sounds Great, Easy To Use Cons: Hard to Find Memory Backpacks, Expensive
The Rio 600 MP3 Player Is A Great Player. Its small, packed with features. All though this player is very expensive to expand, the On-Board 64MB can fit a good amount of music, about 12-16 tracks of varied bitrate of 128-320, And with a 32MB or 64MB...

Pros: Price,looks,Quality,Sound,USB Cons: Memory,Software,Clip/Cas etc.
The Rio 600 has not let me down once. I basically use it at the gym where I only spend about 45 mins, so the lack of memory on the 600 does not really affect me. When listening to mp3 files, as aposed to WMA files, the player really only can hold about...

Pros: Small, sleek, lightweight, and skip free Cons: Cant hold a lot of songs: low memory
It is very small, leightweight and sleek. However the memory is very low. Can only store a very limited amount of music. Memory cards are very pricey. I would reccomend getting a mini disc player. Some may cost you a lil more but it's well worth it....

Pros: Simple to use, great sound, nice portability Cons: 64MB is not enough!
I found the device to work as advertised. The first thing I did when I got it was to upgrade the firmware to the latest version, because I had read about trouble otherwise. This worked easily. I have Windows XP, and you don't even need the included...

Pros: Not sure if there are any. Have been unable to get it to work. Cons: Does not work. Absolutely useless customer support.
I had a Rio 500 which I was happy with for the most part. I decided I wanted some of the extra features and battery life from the 600 though. The RIO 600 has been totally useless since I purchased it. The software regularly hangs or does not recognize...

Pros: sound quality
blazing fast USB interface
plug and play
Great Mac support Cons: comes with crappy headphones
broke within one week of use
single button controller awkward
The innovator, Rio started strong, defeating the RIAA in court. I think that should be rewarded. They went to great lengths to set up a web based MP3 port and have got new groups the exposure that they would have otherwise cost them their cherry to...

Pros: Unfortunately due to the cons I can only say the price. Cons: Power didn't turn on, software was giving errors.
My roommate was able to power his up and use his Rio 600, but has software problems on his. He called technical support and they said the would have to get back to him. Despite this occurring I decided to go to Circuit City and give it a try since they...

Pros: Leight weight Cons: Poor Quality, Poor Software, Cheap Accessories, Poor Sound
I received this product as a gift in January of 2001. By April of 2001, this product no longer worked. The problems started from the beginning. The first time i went to transfer songs onto the Rio 600, It only transferred 1/2 of the song, and then the...

Pros: No more c.d.'s, skips, or trips to the store. Cons: pricy
No more C.D.'s with MP3? If you understand the concept of MP3 it's to allow fast music downloads, and fast transfers to an MP3 player. Not knowing the current stand point of napster I wouldn't highly recomend an MP3 player. Without napster MP3 would not...

Pros: looks hot. small. backlit display. lots of onscreen options. Cons: it broke after about 1.5 months after I bought it, it was under normal usage.
I bought it after christmas, now, about 1.5 months later, the piece of trash sorry excuse for an mp3 player is broken cause it doesn't play the file correctly. There's this very loud crackling sound which got louder over time and the music is distorted...

Pros: Very stylish, easy to use, good sound quality, and inexpensive. Cons: Only 32MB of memory.
About two months ago, I purchased the Rio 600 at an online retailer. This is an excellent MP3 player. I was very surprised that I could get this kind of quality at such a low price. The main reason I bought it was because it looked “cool” and it was...

Worth buying
by mwimberly ,Oct 01 '03
Pros: Inexpensive. Does the job. Cons: Difficult buttons.
I like my MP3 player. The buttons are testy...it is sometimes difficult to push the correct one. And the battery life is never as long as the readout says. But, it is inexpensive and works well.
